Steiner Predator Series Hunting Binoculars, 10x42 Laser Rangefinding

Not overly impressed. Focus worked well and edges were fine with not much CA. But overall sharpness was just not as good as I expected. My vortex diamondbacks are significantly sharper. Also the autofocus was a little more taxing on my eyes, not a big deal. But a bigger issue for me was the focuser on the eyepiece. There was not enough friction to keep them set well. Little bump or rub would move them. Kind defeating the purpose of the autofocus having to continually watch and reset focus.

Try to find out where these are made. All my other Steiner optics are clearly marked "Germany". I suspect these are Asian made optics passed off as German. I'm finished with new Steiner gear. Riding on the name..

Compre pensando en calidad y optica alemana.Al recibir el producto lo primero que veo es que en ninguna parte del binocular ni en su empaque dice made in Germany .Por eso comienzo a averiguar y tampoco aparece en los catalogos de alemania y por otro lado ofrecen el mismo producto e Alibaba Realmente todo esto genera la duda de si es realmente un producto aleman. Lo primero me gustaria tener alguna respuesta de Steiner si este modelo es hecho en Alemania o en el oriente

I couldn’t get the auto focus sharp enough. I was looking at objects about 80 yards and further but it just seemed a little blurry and less crisp compared to the older pair of steiners I have. Also a little heavier than I was hoping for but it does hold well in your hands l. Ordered a pair of Leopold BX-4’s because I want something that performs well in low light.

These are on of the best sets of binoculars I've ever purchased. Very comfortable and very clear. The only negative I had was the case fits extremely tight on the binoculars.
