UPDATE: 3 mos laterStill going strong except a rip in the fabric on the right shoe. I took a little tumble going downhill and I seemed to have chaffed he fabric. I can see the stitch on the seam and can’t figure out how to repair it. Any help from the Amazon community will be a great help.Purchased on June 24, 2022.After countless attempts to find just the right work boot for trekking up and down my enormous back yard, I finally found just the right fit. No I mean I have really spent a ton of 💰 on worthless footwear. I already had a pair of Salomon trail footwear so I figured let me give this one a try as it seemed to have adequate ankle support. If it’s good enough for hiking 🥾 then it’s good enough for hiking up and down my backyard.I wear orthotic inserts and they slid in like butter. Very lightweight , which is a plus for constant walking. The toe box was on point, meh 🫤 for arch support as I had my own. Overall, I think it’s a great investment for people on their feet all day. My only issue was I would’ve appreciated another eyelet for the laces, but that’s not a show stopper.I wear size 8, but I purchased size 9. Bad call. I tried the 8.5 and was concerned that my orthotics might need additional wiggle room. I was wrong 😑 as it took no time to break these in. So yes, the half size up for orthotics is a must.I’m a die hard Columbia enthusiast, but I’m glad I ventured out on this purchase.

I bought these hiking boots to do the stairway to Heaven in Hawaii. I will give my pros and consPros:*They are water resistant and my feet stayed dry for 9 hours, even after stepping in tons of muddy water, mud, and getting down poured on in them.*They offer good gripCons:*The heels/foot bed support is lacking, 2 hours into my 9 hour hike my feet started hurting. By the end of my hike I could not wait to get these boots off. They need some extra support in the shoe, and I will probably do add an extra insole to make them more comfortable. My toes were killing me by the end of the hike.*No matter how tight I tied my boots, rocks and small particles kept getting into the bottom of my shoes and I was wearing long thick socks.Overall they are a decent hiking boot, but I do not think I’d recommend them because of how uncomfortable my feet were in such a short amount of time and how much they hurt at the end. I’m sad they hurt my feet so much, for how expensive they were :(

Great quality. Fit perfectly right out of the box. I ordered half size smaller as most of the reviews I read said they run large. I’d suggest going by the Euro sizing as it is true for all of my other Salomon footwear. No need to wear these in. Put them on for the first time yesterday and did a rugged terrain 12km hike. Zero issues with blistered etc. Super grippy soles for incline/decline on smooth rock. Water proof. Laces stayed tied the entire time. Such a great hiker. Very appealing color scheme too. Don’t hesitate to purchase these, u won’t be disappointed!
