good stretch
I have never had a back stretcher made out of cork before. Typically the ones I have are either wood or a hard foam. This is made of cork and it is very sturdy. It’s easy to use. It does help to stretch out the back and the ribs very nicely. If you got pain in your shoulders or upper back, I highly recommend this. I’m going to try it on my lower back as well and see if it’s helpful. But even if not, it is really good for the upper back and shoulders.

Helps a lot
This has been a lifesaver. I had numbness in my arm from an old back injury. I was going to the chiropractor for it and I quit after I got this. The chiropractor wasn't helping. This popped me back into place after using it two times. Saved me $1500.00

Finally a reasonably priced alternative to the Backpod for Costochondritis
I've wanted to try the Backpod for some time due to some chest pain that I was told was Costochondritis but just couldn't justify the price on that (over 60 dollars and even more when I first started looking at this product years ago). Thankfully now other manufacturers have caught up and it looks like there are similar options. If you need more guidance on how to use this look up Backpod as it's the same thing. I was able to find some youtube videos that helped me out with placement. So these devices are supposed to be hard, that's just the way they are. I don't think you will find one that is much softer. It's still pricey for a block of cork but the shape really does matter in this case. I don't want to mess with my back. The cork doesn't have any smell and is very smoothly cut. It's also hard enough that it doesn't easily seem to get nicks or dents. I am seeing cork in more yoga/stretch type contexts and I'm a bit torn about it. On one hand it's cool that it's natural, biodegradable, etc. On the other hand I'm concerned about this not lasting quite as long because if it gets stained, gross, or sweaty, I wouldn't know how to properly clean or sanitize it. I think next time around I would try a hard foam version over cork but that's just personal preference and the fact that I have two naughty cats that destroy everything.I used this for a few days and I can already tell a difference in my posture naturaly. When I went to do yoga after I felt that some of the issues I had from being out of alignment (weakness on one side) were much better. My pain overall has been a little better since starting it but I haven't had the Costochondritis like chest pain I was having for a few months - that comes and goes.Overall if you have bad posture, chest pain, and so on I'd give this device a try, but keep in mind whether you'd prefer cork or some other material like me.(BTW, if you want a real bargain price - The next cheapest option/lifehack for this kind of stretch is getting a men's plastic jock cup that's a similar shape but I wouldn't trust the shape on it!)

Extremely firm, designed for Costochondritis, maybe not the best yoga accessory
I used to enjoy stretching my back over a yoga ball and expanding my chest - it just felt good and countered my bad posture tendencies. The ball took up too much room so I got rid of it. I hoped this would be a good compact replacement but after trying it, I am not sure it is what I need for casual yoga use. It is really targeted at Costochondritis sufferers and it has instruction included on how to use it - you will need a heating pad to use it as instructed. It also has a lot of warnings and I am scared off by some of them. I think I need something softer - this is very hard and painful at some points on my back.

Extremely Hard
The promo is misleading. The product instructions say it’s for Costochondritis and doesn’t have any instructions on how to use it for anything else. I have attempted to use it in my yoga practice, but the stretcher is too hard, there is no flexibility to it. I am going to try and use it in other ways, but i would no recommend it.

A Bit Hard But Very Helpful
After spending so much time sitting at a computer or reading a book, it's always a great relief to give my upper back some great stretching relief. I use to always lean over a sofa arm to help stretch my back, but that sometimes got awkward. Foam rollers are a great help. This is yet another great tool in my arsenal of back relieving tools. It really helps to open up that region and push things back into place. Many times I've gotten rid of headaches by using such tools. This is quite handy and can even be used while sitting on the sofa for a simpler bit of relief before even needing the full flat on my back method. The only thing that I find a bit difficult on occasion is that this is very hard. Though it needs some degree of hardness, it can make it a little uncomfortable. Of course, all you really need is a few moments with this for it to do its job. Would be so much nicer if it had a slight bit of padding. Sometimes I'll align a flattish pillow or a folded towel over this to make it more comfortable.I do, however, have an issue with the price point of $29.95 (today's price) for an item that is nothing but a hard cork board sort of material. They need to knock a good $10 off of this price. Though overpriced, it is very helpful.

A bit hard on my vertebrae but it seems to work!
I really like he video on this listing which shows you how to use the little mum back stretcher. I am not someone who has chest or rib pain but I do have a very attractive dowager's hump. I have been using g a styrofoam middle type roller which has been helping a lot with back pain as well as reducing the hump a bit. I think this will be a good addition as well. I cannot use it without a pillow yet. Maybe eventually I can. Also note that you mustbsupply your own heat if you live in the United States. Restrictions prevent them from sending the heat pad to the US. I don't have inflammation though or chest pain, so I don't see a need for heat. I. Just trying g to improve the curvature of my spine. This does seem to work but I wish I had thicker skin on my spine. I could always put a bit of padding on top of the little mum. I do love the simplicity of this and it doesn't have any horrible smells because it's cork! It is a simple, non toxic device which is why I love it!
