Some of the negative reviews stated that this didn't have DMX detection. It most certainly does. It's made really well, a great addition to my system

Heavy and no indicator LEDs
This is by far the heaviest DMX splitter/isolator I have ever seen. And it has no LEDs to show signal is present. I returned it. I like the size & form factor, but not the weight.LEDs showing if DMX is being received are not on this model, but are pretty standard on most DMX splitters. If you have ever tried to troubleshoot a wonky DMX rig, those LEDs are lifesavers. It is hard to see in the photos that there are no status LEDs.
