Plodding, but a good story
Many times in reading this book, I considered quitting. The narration draws the story along very slowly, not always moving the plot along, but sort of idling in place. As the ending drew near, the action got more exciting and led to a very happy ending.

Gospel of Mark..intriguing
While the book jumped between the present and the past… and was sometimes hard to follow, the intriguing story of how we’ve never seen ALL of Mark’s gospel was revealed. There was some poetic license in having Mark meet Miriam, Peter’s daughter, and get married and live a long life, but it added interest to the story. I was so intrigued by the idea that Mark wrote more than we have seen, that I researched and found there are researchers looking for more of Mark’s story. A ancient piece of papyrus has been found and researchers are looking for its connection to Mark’s gospel. I enjoyed the storyline and learned quite a bit about biblical history!

a thoughtful read
I love all things Biblical and am careful to acknowledge factual and fictional renderings l liked the straight forward story that we’d all love to have happen and the spiritual quality to the musings of Kate and Chris . Most of all humanizing John Mark and his desire to get it right for allMankind is admirable. Keeping in mind the divinely driven aspect of the Gospels after all makes this a thoughtful read!

Good Book!
I enjoyed the characters in both stories of this book. It gave me some insight as to how the good news of Jesus was spread

This book will open your heart & expand your mind.
I didn’t expect the story to affect me as deeply as it did; touted as an archeological thriller, it is way beyond that inadequate description. It’s foremost a skillful weaving of adventure, danger, fellowship, faith and love between two pairs more than two millennia apart, fused as tightly together as the papyrus threads that serve as the centerpiece of the story. I am in my mid-70s and found this novel to be the most skillfully written work I’ve ever encountered… excepting, perhaps, the Gospel of Mark which serves as the basis for the storyline. Kudos, and thank you!

Well Written
But ... I don't agree with some of the conjecture. Too much we still don't know, and too many areas involving Jesus/Yehoshua and his life with which we are being mislead. How do I know? None of the scholars or church officials have been able to agree on even one narrative. That's why there are 3 different 'Gospels.'

Initially I was Skeptical…
But ten pages in, I was hooked. Entertaining, educational, and eventually I was envious. Envious because Joe Edd Morris had captured the great historical novel I had long wanted to write. Now all I had left to do was enjoy. Thank you!

Unusual, creative
“The Lost Page” by Joe Ed Morris is a novel about the Gospel according to Mark. It alternates between shortly after the life of Christ when Mark was researching and writing his account, and 2011 when two archeologists are trying to track down the original scroll to ascertain the accuracy of the present-day versions. Improbable coincidences and a theological digression detract from the narrative a bit, but the characters and plot make the book a satisfying read.

Book review
Fast moving plot. Great location information and accuracy. I enjoyed the past and the prescient sequencing.

A thought provoking read.
An enjoyable read mixing past with present.Surprising how a piece of fiction can make you consider and reaffirm one's belief in the resurrection. One downside I thought the finding of the scroll and getaway too easy, almost hurried. But still a most enjoyable read.Until the mix.

Disappointing
I found the topic interesting but the delivery was poor. Trying to be a bit Indiana Jones with a bit of Clive Cussler but to be honest I found the modern day element tedious. The historic part was more interesting but again, went a bit flat and overall left be me thinking "and so what.........?"

A novel that felt like reading scripture
I have always seem Mark’s Gospel as the quick and simplified gospel and have usually preferred John or Luke. Although only a novel, there are places where I felt I was reading new scripture, gaining a new insight and respect for Mark‘s approach and especially the way he ended his work. I see the Gospel of Mark in a completely new light。

Jury’s out
I really hope the book proof reading is better than the back cover! Not a good start!
