I'm no expert with TCM and Chinese herbs, and I'm normally pretty suspicious of 'snake oil' stuff, but this stuff really works. This is my second bottle of the stuff--for the last 3 years, if I feel even a little bit snurfly with a cold, I start taking these, and normally I only need 3 doses or so to completely stop the cold in its tracks--and I'm the kind of person who normally gets taken out by a cold for almost a whole week. It works best for the type of cold where you feel 'hot' and flu-ish, more than the slow sore throat kind.

This is a great product. If you need something as a preventative for the flu, take these pills when you just feel the beginnings of a sore throat or a cough that there is no reason for or you have been on a plane during flu season. If you catch these symptoms early and take these Chinese pills you can prevent the flu from going any further. If you can not stop it, take Gan Mao ling as the next step. That should do it. These are herbs but considered antibiotics by Chinese medicine.
