It Works
My 2009 bmw x5 (gas) got flooded on the right side of the trunk where the module was located. Oxidized and burned its module due to water leak .its rear door latch won't open. NOW it's work now and wrapped it with zip lock plastic 2x...just in case, it happens again.

It works except for the tailgate light
Twice now I’ve had to replace this module due to the corner well in my X5 filling with water. Drill some holes to keep it from filling up and use larger holes rather than smaller like I did the last time. 2x ~1/4in ideally to avoid clogging. I plugged it in and it worked without programming except for illuminating the tailgate light behind the button.

Wow can't believe that it works perfect.Direct fit at 1 fraction of the cost. No programingThe original one shorted out due to water build up so had to drill 2 draining holes to prevent water build up.

So far it doesn’t work
Plugged the module in and absolutely no power going to the trunk. Will update the review when I reach out to the seller for “further product support” as they put it.
