Poor product
Just needed a small vice to attach to a portable work bench. It should, in this day & age, be straightforward to manufacture such an item. In this case, however, apparently not. The jaws opened easily enough, but they will not close without excessive turning force on the handle. I have tried cleaning/working/greasing the thread, but this made no difference. Buyer beware. I'm now looking for an alternative that works.

Great for small jobs
Works well for small jobs. Vice is sturdy, a lot of the sturdiness is down to what you attach it to.Cant fault it. Its labled as Draper, it could be anything as this was just a sticker

Great Little Vise, Wish It was a Little Bigger
I purchased this bench vise for my husband to give him a bit more stability for smaller jobs, rather than using a table vise. It is quite small. The box it comes in is approx 6"w x 6"h x 4"w. It does have quite some weight to it and the screws are very sturdy. As mentioned by other reviewers, the screw that grips to the table digs into the surface a bit, we put a long thin piece of wood under it when attaching it to our workbench. Holds on well and you do have the ability to screw in if it is a thick surface you are screwing it into My only disappointment is that I did think it would be a little bigger than it was, in the sense that I could get slightly larger objects in the vise (I am talking height wise, not width) . Its great for the odd little jobs, but I will have to invest in a bigger vise.

Excellent for the price
This vice is sturdy and solid with a smooth action and a strong grip. It can't compare to a fixed bench vice but then presumably you will have already considered this through lack of space, or perhaps portability. The only thing which I think detracts from this little vice is the edge-fixing mechanism. The washer that one screws upward to fix the vice to an edge is made of steel and provides a good grip, but care should be taken with how tightly it is fixed, as the washer will bite into the material of the workbench or table you are fixing it to. This is easily remedied by using a rubber pad to protect the surface and is a good idea for the top of the edge clamp too. That said, I think this is an excellent portable vice at a great price and is well suited to light DIY. It seems to be of good quality and should last forever if it is used well.

Avoid
Vice snapped on first usage. Ridiculously poor quality product.
