They Laughed, But Who's Laughing Now?
So, I splurged. On nail clippers. Mind you, I didn't get the $70 option, but I did spend far more than I ever had previously. On nail clippers. My wife scowled at me increduously, chuckled, rolled her eyes, and turned away dismissively.I'm not a professional nail tech. I don't have any medical conditions that require special needs or infections for power tools to saw through. I'm just a guy who likes his nails to not scare small children and cause strangers to recoil in horror. And to impress people with my hygiene, like my beautiful wife who once appreciated how sharp I am but now clowns me for researching expensive nail clippers.Yes, I did research. For nail clippers. Apparently, Japan does their typically excessive, impeccable work on personal hygiene products that involve cutting edges, like little katanas. These are Japanese, and are highly recommended by the review sites. They're pretty, satin finish and curves and all, but the engineering is where it's at. Solid feel. Good weight. Great tension. And the cutting. Wow. There's something to this offset feathered edge technology. On regular drug store clippers that just means poor quality control and uneven, misaligned edges. Not here. This is some space age, intentional, genius-level paradigm shift in nail clipping. The included file is quite impressive, but you don't need it. Because it cuts so well. And the little clipping catcher actually works, which boggles my mind because clippings usually shoot across the room *away from you* but it captures them inside, in the opposite direction. One note (not a complaint): The research I did stated that this was best in class for larger clippers, which is what I was looking for. The type you can use on fingers and/or toes. Not the tiny ones for itty bitty baby nails or those giant, club-like toe nail clippers you could cut hedges with. That's what the M in the name is for, I assumed: Medium.Well, these are large. Not unwieldy, two-handed monsters that look like a car jack, but larger than I'd expected (these replaced--and are larger than--some Revlon Sure Grips I had for a decade that were larger than most).Maybe I'll let her use them. Or, maybe I'll be petty, roll my eyes, and chuckle. Nah, then I'd miss a chance to sing their praises and spread the nail clipping gospel...and justify my efforts.

I do like these clippers
I do like these clippers. Wish they had one of those little metal bits to scrape under the nails. Also, the catcher part works great but slides around a lot depending on how you hold the clippers, which is a big flaw. Cuts well though! Good medium size which I like!
