I highly recommend as lt is among the top books I have read. Great exposition of the Word of God regarding temptation.

Oh my! The day the Lord came down and gave this timely word. I wish I had read this 50 years ago, it would have saved me a ton of sorrow. It will be in my reading list for along time.

I thought this book brought home the reasons about temptations and the dangers of allowing them to become part of your thoughts and actions. Most people think of temptations as being only about sexual desires, this book does make excellent points about other temptations we live with and need to be aware of and stay clear from.I would recommend this book to everyone.

There is so much practical, Biblical advice here! I plan to read it again and again! Like a rich meal, I can’t digest it all at once. Thanks for making Owen’s advice to accessible!

I've read several versions of this work. I totally believe the Bible is 100% truth and will work to free you from sin. That being said, I'm just not convinced that John Owen's view of indwelling sin is the full teaching of the Bible for the Born-again Christian. I have yet to meet a Christian who used the teachings of John Owen on sin and temptation to live in obedience and victory over sin consistently. If you know of anyone who used the teachings of John Owen to walk in freedom, please let me know. I'm still waiting to meet one. God's Word will free you from sin. John Owen's teaching on sin and temptation will not.
