My favourite Regency romance novel
This is one of my all time favourite Regency romance books - I first read in 2018 and have reread at least 4 times and just completing again... I also loved Julia's London's "The Hazards of Hunting a Duke," "Devil's Love" and the Cabot sisters novels and along with many of Lisa Kleypas' Regency novels, these Julia London's Regency novels are so wonderful and just can't be put down once started. Unfortunately, her latest books I just can't get into because of the setting in a factious country and sure wish she would go back to writing these wonderful, totally engrossing aforementioned Regency Romances...

Man, People are tough to please!
Spoiler free review:I see all these 2-4 star reviews and I'm not sure where it's coming from. I've reread this book no less than three times in 6 months. It's so remarkably well done. The love story is so compelling. I love that there's a bit of mystery to the plot. FMC and MMC both had logical motivations/actions.You don't need to read the series to appreciate this book, but it's one of my favorites. Very reminiscent of Lisa Kleypas' Wallflower series.

Thank Mommy for Helping me Find the right person
Geer, got in a situation in which she couldn't get out of, leaving London without knowing anything about where she was going or who she might encounter on her journer. Mr Percy appeared to be pleasent enought but since she did not know any one, she took up with him, believing without question, everything he told her about the area and Rhodrick. Then to welcome Mr. Percy advances, showed just how little she knew about the world she traveled in. Rhodrick, was a good guy, everyone that talked to her about him, advised her that he was, this to me would bring about a question in my mind, if Percy was lying. but Geer still couldn't believe him to be a nice guy. Geer got a little trying towards the end, but she pulled through, thanks to her mother (in spirit), and realized that she loved Rhodrick.

4 solid "Beauty and the Beast" stars
The Perils of Pursuing a Prince is the second book in the Desperate Debutantes Trilogy and a fun, romantic, sexy tale. It was my first taste of Julia London's writing as well as my first listen of Anne Flosnik's narrating, and I enjoyed both very much.My Quickie Review...Like several others whose reviews I read, it took me awhile to warm up to Greer and Rhodrick, but the story itself was intriguing and is what kept me reading. Eventually, though, we learn that all the things that make them hard to connect with are, once understood, the same things that make them endearing people. I really did come to adore them, their complicated, emotional story, and their happily ever after!

I don't know what it was about this story that made me not love it. It was a good plot, good characters...I just can't put my finger on it. I should have liked it, but I didn't really. Perhaps the romance went too slowly. Actually the whole story went a bit slow. I felt like I was skipping over pages too much. Greer was a tad naive, yes. Though Rhoderick was not always that nice. He was too blunt at times. But other than these, I would have rated it a 4. But I just couldn't...get into it. The interest I had when I read Ava's story wasn't there. If you like slow romances, then this could be the book for you.

Interesting romance inWales
I enjoyed reading this book set in the Welsh countryside. The attraction between Greer and the Prince of Powys was sizzling from the beginning. There is a mysterious death to explain involving the ghost of Greets mother .This keeps the relationship on Rocky ground until true love prevails in the end.

Like a bowl of ice cream
It's a nice book for when you want something a bit on the light side with not a lot of conflict. I don't feel it has a lot of reread value though, but I guess that is more up to personal preference.
