Awaken (The Cure Chronicles)

Love hate.
The series so far is clearly a knockoff of those before it. It has typos, doesn't show particular writing skill, and the protagonist isn't the brightest bulb in the box. Yet I was strangely compelled to keep reading. The story moves (sometimes without enough character development), but still made me want to turn the page.I really really want the characters to stop snickering. Perhaps I'm alone in this pet peeve but I hate that word and Ash snickers when she's joking around, when she thinks she's going to die, in the middle of combat--pretty much all the time. Make it stop! But kudos to the author; I keep reading.

Ehhh…
I loved the Hunger Games series, but I was kind of hoping this series would be revolutionarily different? Instead it’s the same story, characters and plot but with slight tweaks. I guess if I had just finished reading Hunger Games and was sad about not having any more of the same content to read this would definitely be fulfilling. After reading this second book though, I’m just going to cancel my pre-order for book four and find something else.Very disappointed.

Enticing story
I wanted to give this only four stars because the love story between the two characters is so juvenile to me but I couldn’t do it. I reas this book in a day because I was hooked! So many questions I had and so many interesting things were happening that I couldn’t put this book down. I’m sad I have to wait now for the last book but I’ll be definitely reading it when it comes out.

Loved it!
I love how the author describes recap info in their sequel books ...it isn't too much so you feel like you're reading it over gain. The character building of not only the 3 main characters, but support characters is great. I can really feel like I'm going through the scenarios with them as they experience it too. Can't wait for the next book!

3.5 stars
I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first. It seemed to drag until half way through before any real action occurred. Up to that point it was just a slow build where I kept waiting for something to happen. Once it did it was much more exciting. Hopefully the third book will be better.

breaking out from the usual
Thank the lord I decided to read book 2. This one breaks out of the usual YA dystopian Skelton. I’m I’m happy with the amount of time the heroin isn’t spent locked up in a prison or another like in other books. There are some of the same aspects of others but I think this book is finding its own ground.

interesting book in series
This book was just as interesting as the last one but ends with you wanting to immediately read the next one.

Awaken by K.A.Riley
Book 2. Very interesting with many twists and turns. New characters, site and intrigue. Storyline is fleshed out a bit more and caused me to project some outcomes. Look forward to book 3.
