Bicycle Odyssey Playing Cards, Blue

These cards are gorgeous in addition to being an affordable price. They're the kind of quality one would expect from Bicycle. The indexes are very large. There are complaints about the red being dark and difficult to distinguish from the black, but maybe that is more the case when playing in a poorly lit area. I think the two colors are distinguishable; the key thing about this deck being subtlety, and so the colors have a subtle (and perhaps difficult to distinguish for some people) difference too. The colors, including the blue tones, in this deck are muted but very pretty, especially on the card backs. If you're expecting foil on the cards as on the tuckbox, they do not have that and you will be disappointed. I took it for what it is and the subtle, muted, ancient sort of aesthetic is definitely my thing personally, though it won't be for everyone. What I found interesting is how all of the face cards are distinct, not standard, and different from suit to suit. (You can tell by the different flowers the queens have.) Absolutely love that. I would recommend these playing cards to anyone who can appreciate subdued beauty. The price is affordable as well.

This deck and the Marquis look like they were designed as a set. They don't have the same art at all, but they have a very comparable quality to them. The number cards have been re-drawn, but are in the traditional style with larger numbers (no problem playing these without my glasses). The Courts have all custom art, with many of the familiar elements. The coloring is almost entirely Blue and black. The red court cards are blue and black with a single element of red that depicts their suit. The box has a metallicized version of the card backs, but the cards themselves do not have metallic inks. Compared with the Marquis, I like different features of both of them. I think this one scores incrementally higher than the Marquis, but they are still #2 and #3 favorite decks -- and I paid more for my #1 than both these put together.

I don't know why but I decided to collect some of these playing cards that looked cool. I have no intention of actually using them or even opening them so I can't really review them, but legendary bicycle quality assures at least they should be great if I ever do open them.

I am not a playing card collector, but I have always been a fan of Bicycle cards. I appreciate their newer sets which feature different colors schemes and different art for the court cards and pips. This deck is very unique with amazing court cards. I would certainly give it 5 stars but for the dark maroon diamonds and hearts. I actually prefer the Sea King cards for actual card games. There are some color changes, but not in the pips. The card backs are really cool and the watermark on the face cards is very classy. I would love to see Bicycle design some new Pinochle specific decks!

These cards were super sturdy and make great gifts. The didn’t get dirty easily.

The cards are just as described. They are very detailed designed.

My husband likes the big numbers on these cards. The only thing I don't like is that the red cards aren't red, they're more of a purple color in my opinion.

Carte esteticamente molto belle, bicycle rinomata per la finitura delle sue carte da gioco. Sono ottime ben imballate.

Wie immer bei Bicycle, gute Qualität und schöner Druck. Ich habe sie gekauft als sie reduziert waren, daher ok. Wenn man bedenkt das es ein Massenprodukt ist, sehe ich nicht ein >10€ dafür zu bezahlen. Ich besitze einige der Bicycle Decks, dieses ist ein wirklich schönes.

material is paper and not suitable for card games (better for poke)

Très bon jeu de carte ! De qualité Bicycle donc sans surprise, il est parfait pour les tours de magies mais aussi la cardistry ! J’ai enlevé une étoile car sur une des images dans la description, il est marqué « lot de 2 » alors que ce n’est pas le cas. Donc faites attention à cette information. À part ça, le jeu est nickel !
