The bluetooth range is very less. Maximum 4-5ft. Also connecting via bluetooth is a little messy especially with Iphone. You might have to remove the device and re-add it.The buttons on top are pretty useless. One button for +&> and another for -&< (I.e. volume and fwd/prev controls).Volume controls almost never work. Fwd./Prev. Song Works on some devices. Didn't work on my Samsung Note.Sound is pretty clear and good. The highest level of sound without losing clarity or resulting in buzzing noises is pretty impressive.

I've ordered several EcoXGear speakers, all are quite good.My EcoPebbles are good for a room-size area of people. Great for a pavilion or a group of people at a picnic or whatever. At max volume listening to music, up close it is loud, and can be heard as background music to about 50 feet. It can be heard faintly up to about 75 feet. Bluetooth connectivity depends on the phone or device, my phone can reach about 30 feet, laptop reaches about 50 feet. Battery life depends on volume and music, at full volume mine last about 2 hours, sometimes 3 hours, I imagine the "up to 7 hours" is at low volume on a wired connection. The phone functions work though I normally turn it off on my phone, beware getting a phone call on speaker phone while running the background music for a crowded room.The speaker tone isn't perfect, but it responds well enough based on frequency tests. I can start hearing sounds about 20 Hz or so, all the way up to around 14KHz. When listening to music sometimes it is a little tinny, but expected given the size of the speaker.They are rugged, surviving many drops, bumps, and bangs, the rubber is barely scuffed after a lot of hard use. Waterproofing works, but needs the backing plate TIGHTLY secured if you plan to submerge it, otherwise the USB charging port, hard power switch, and audio jack can let water in. Mine have survived rainstorms and spills no problem, and sand knocks out of the crevices easily.Beware about getting the right color. If fulfilled by Amazon you'll probably get the right color. If fulfilled by EcoXGear it is random if you'll get the right colors. For my orders they've only gotten half of them the correct color. If they ship the wrong color Amazon won't help with shipping, you'll need to pay to ship it back for an exchange where they'll (hopefully) get it right.

Had the Ecostone model (it's bigger brother) but got this one to take with me all the time wherever I go. The unit sounds awesome and it is so small!Battery life is great and it even comes with a handlebar mount for a bike! Mounting options are a breeze with the 1/4 20 tripod thread and nice to see a leash with a carabiner clip included. Use it almost everyday!

I like the pebble, we use it on the beach, boat, and raft. It floats and is waterproof but the speaker points down when floating so you can't hear it while floating, no big deal. The only disappointment is the lanyard and ring that attaches the lanyard to the pebble. They are pretty cheap, I had to replace the ring once already and the lanyard is starting to tear. I plan to reach out to the mfg on that. We use the lanyard all the time to hang it from the beach umbrella
