Best hardware ever.
That's the best controller board so far. The first one was partly dead because the USB-C port was dead, but Jeff replaced it no questions asked.Great service Jeff, keep it up.

They suck
These boards suck! 3 different octopus pro boards and all bad. The spi is bad on all three, one the usb is bad and one restarts by itself. Amazon won’t let you return something twice so I am out quite a bit and no working board! There has to be something better!

oh my what a difference
this board and the TMC2209 make for a silent printer , i realize its the driver not the board . setup was a breeze . the documentation on github is easy to follow . BTT tony was helpfull with any questions i had .

Beast of a controller board
This is most definitely an overkill for a simple 3D printer, however if you are thinking about upgrading your printer, this is the board to go with. It has soooooooo many ports available to use. SPI, I2C, RS232, analog and digital inputs and outputs, 8 motor drivers :) I've used this for my 2 Z motor (individually controlled for gantry leveling) + 2 extruder upgrade. I highly recommend using this with klipper and a raspberry pi. It makes everything so much easier. But the board is really powerful so if you're not constantly tinkering with your printer, this one is able to handle marlin (with all of it's games included :) )or reprap. To be honest, I don't think you'll reach the limits of this board unless you're developing a complete new thing by yourself.

Have to do some work but it's great!
Best bang for your buck. I installed this on a tronxy x5sa frame. Worked great with it. I'm able to print faster, can use multiple colors, add more fans, heating elements and you name it! Works great with octoprint. One thing though I'd like is more documentation about calibration. I literally spend an entire month trying to calibrate my prints.

Four stars is irrelevant
To be honest, I have not implemented this particular board. However I will say that I have never come across a terrible BTT product.Right now I’m working primarily with a Pro v1.2, which should be functionally similar to this, but the primary selling point of the octopus was the direct integration of thermocouple support, which was somewhat of a hurdle with supporting my QIDI printer retrofit. However, if all is well and it is documented appropriately, I do believe that this board will mature extremely well. The obscene number of drivers it supports is total overkill for my use case, but I could see how it may benefit others.Since this is an “upgraded” pro v1.2 in my eyes, I do like the 5/12/24 volt option for fans, thermocouple integration, and welcome the opportunity to add (if needed) more drivers. I have always kept all standard (X/Y/Z-max) stops in place, because sensorless homing isn’t my bag, baby. However, I picked up a CR-Touch to explore the longer probe range and may delegate the BL-Touch to the QIDI printer this will be fitted to.The QIDI (Pro) printer is a nightmare with poorly constructed proprietary design (like, why two rails together horizontally instead of vertically for print head????) but I look forward to the challenge in programming, wiring, and preparing the QIDI printer for this board. The Octopus Pro seems to fit the build in form / fit / function with additional goodies to add. My only comment (which, I just have not checked) is the baked in Marlin board support for this one. However if you run Klipper or some other main board firmware, I do wish the best of luck to you.I have only stuck with Marlin as the flexibility is high, I have a background in programming, and BTT’s products combined with Marlin generally supply me with the complexity, customization, and most importantly - Reliability that I require.

Great bundle
I purchased this bundle to replace a blown Octopus board and stepper drivers, and chose this one because it not only had all the drivers for the board but also came with a filament sensor, so this was an upgrade for me.
