Game changer when you have a clingy baby
Absolutely love this sling! I previously hired a different make of ring sling and I couldn't get on with it... I was about to give up on ring slings until someone recommended this one to me. So I took a risk and this sling is AMAZING ! it's so easy to put on. Baby feels super secure. He's so happy and content in it. I can breastfeed so easily in this sling too and neither of us get overheated. I even carried my almost 4 year old around in it with no issues. My husband really likes it as well. Loads of videos on their YouTube channel to help if you're not sure how to use a ring sling. So glad I purchased!!

Easy to use and comfy for baby.
Pretty and comfortable ring sling. The instructions enclosed are not the clearest for someone who has never used a ring sling but found plenty of videos online to teach me how to use it. Easy to pop on when you need hands free with your little one. My 3 month old loves it and falls asleep in minutes. She doesn't get too hot either which is nice - the fabric is breathable. Definitely recommended!

Not right for us
I found it loosened when walking and wasn't the most comfortable on my back, if I tightened the bit under babys bottom it felt like I'd digged in his legs. I'm not new to sling wraps and don't feel like there's anything I could have done different, I just didn't feel that baby was safe it it and it just didn't work for us, so returned it.

Lovely bamboo blend sling.
Pura Vida ring slings are a bamboo linen blend sling sold on Amazon. Prior to this sling, I had never purchased or received a sling from anywhere other than directly from the babywearing company so I was not sure what to expect ordering off Amazon. I wanted to try Pura Vida as I have had a number of my followers on Instagram message me saying “I’ve been following you forever and I love your slinging and I decided I need one for a trip I leave on in 2 days” and obviously Amazon Prime next day or two day shipping is gonna be the way to go unless they want to shell out the big bucks for expedited shipping from a retailer. I live in Portland, Oregon - near a number of Amazon warehouses and so I ordered my sling at 10am and it arrived just after 3pm the same day. In true Amazon fashion, the sling arrived in a box about 5 times too big and was also wrapped in plastic around the dust bag as well as around the sling itself. The wasteful packaging was a bit of a bummer but I suppose using Amazon as a distributor you want to keep your product as “fresh and clean” as possible so perhaps that’s the motivation. Two fun and unique things about Pura Vida:1. Pura Vida slings have a pocket in the tail which can be used to tuck a baby or caregiver item in for quick access while wearing.2. Pura Vida donates 5 percent of profits to CEPIA in Costa Rica where they are based. From CEPIA website “CEPIA stands for Culture, Education and Psychology for Infants and Adolescents and is a Costa Rican nationally accredited non-profit organization that seeks to promote culture, health, sports and education for children and teenagers and their families from poor backgrounds in the communities of Guanacaste, Costa Rica.”All ring slings are safety tested from 8 to 35 pounds but many caregivers wear past this weight. My son is 2.5 and 34 pounds - bamboo is a fabric with a bit of stretch and a super soft feel. I was comfortable in this sling for a quick trip but would probably grab a different sling for longer wears with a child his size. Bamboo can get a bad rap as “slipping” - that is not staying put in the rings once the child is in and secured. Bamboo doesn’t really slip but it will find any slack or loose fabric in the sling and allow the child’s weight to fall into that slack making it seem like it’s slipping. This can easily be remedied by taking an extra 30 seconds to walk the fabric around to the rings and be sure the fabric is flat across the wearers back for a good fit. The stretch to the bamboo makes the sling very easy to adjust for a good fit even for new wearers. This sling can be machine washed with detergent with no optical brighteners and should only be air dried to prevent shrinking.Pura Vida slings come in one length and one ring color option per colorway. I didn’t see any indication of a long length option on any colors. They offer a number of colors including some beautiful dip dye options - I received Storm Cloud.Pura Vida slings can be purchased on Amazon for $65-70 depending on the color way. There are often additional coupons you can select to take another 5-10 percent off at checkout.Thank you Pura Vida for gifting me this sling for review. I feel confident in suggesting this as an option for caregivers who need a sling next day or are looking to specifically purchase or register on Amazon.

Beautiful and functional
I have been using this for 2 months now with baby #3 and continue to love it! I get so many compliments about how beautiful it is, but my favorite thing is how easy it is to use. Once you thread it initially it’s simply a matter of tightening and loosening to get baby in and out. It does put more pressure on one shoulder, which can be tiring if you’re wearing baby for extended periods of time, but this has been great for trips to the grocery store, church, and around the house to get baby sleeping. :) I don’t know how this compares to other ring slings, but I have four other types of carriers (2 wrap style, 1 soft structured, and one combination wrap/soft structure) and this is definitely my favorite for the newborn stage. Once he’s bigger I imagine we’ll use the soft-structured carrier, but right now this is just the ticket! I am still getting the hang of nursing in the carrier (with mixed results depending how hungry my son is) but I do like that this sling doubles as a cover or burp cloth in a pinch. And the pocket is a great spot to stash a burp cloth and my phone.
