An otherwise excellent design with one major flaw
At first I liked this razor a lot, but the plastic handle attachment was a point of failure.I bought this razor for travel but it quickly became my daily driver. The small hefty, and well balanced handle made maneuvering easy and the smooth chrome surface prevented any grime from building up. I liked that it accepted the ubiquitous Mach 3 heads. And after trying this razor my girlfriend bought one for herself. However, the attachment point for the razor is made of plastic, with small moving parts, and broke after less than a year of use so that blades can no longer click on to the head. Now my razor is useless. If Parker ever came out with an updated version of this razor with a more robust attachment mechanism I would buy it again, but in its current state I wouldn’t pay a premium cost for a product that is no more durable than the cheap plastic handles.

Unclear Why This Exists, or What I Was Thinking When Purchasing.
This razor handle is weighty metal, heft is impressive for how small it is. As others have noted, the head is plastic, though I have seen Gillette Mach3 handles that are also plastic, not even all Gillette handles are solid metal ones as when the model was first introduced. All that said, this is just too small to use. Some grip positions are OK in one direction, but not in another. As also mentioned by others, this is incredible smooth, almost polished. I tossed on some small grips of Talon grip material I had, and with much improved traction on the handle, it was still too small to use.For travel it may have its use, assuming you leave the case behind. Any gain in the shorter length is lost by a case that is 3x as wide as a stock handle. I'd honestly rather travel with a normal Mach3 handle, or even the cheap, plastic Gillette-issued model, than this.

This is just a brilliant product that would be a best-seller if only it ...
This is just a brilliant product that would be a best-seller if only it were better known.Yes it's short and stubby but so perfectly weighted that it shaves just as well as hefty full-size razor. If you're a minimalist like me this could easily be your only razor: the Mach 3's are among the best cartridges out there and last at least 2 weeks. For the complete minimalist travel razor kit I recommend buying Cremo shave cream (the sandalwood is especially nice) and putting some in a 1.5 oz. Go Toob (it'll last up to a month). Doesn't take up much more room than a disposable while the shaving experience is nearly as good as a nice DE razor.

Fragile.
This product makes a promise it can’t keep. While it’s nice and compact, it is not robust, as a travel item needs be. One drop of barely two feet into the sink, and the plastic catches that hold the razor cartridge in place shattered, rendering the thing useless.

Straight from Santa’s Village, an elf sized razor
Why was this even made? The handle is stupid tiny. I knew it would be small but it’s ridiculous. If the handle were 1/2 inch to inch longer this would be solid. But it’s not.
