Outstanding.
When orchestrated hysteria is the prevailing mood in world affairs, take the high road, follow the real McCoy.It is reassuring to know that in the Land of the Free, somewhere in Wisconsin of all places, someone is still flying the flag of logic and reason. This too shall pass...Sic transit..

Amazing Sweep of History
McCoy is able to distill 500 years of history and 3 world empires into a factual yet always entertaining book that leaves the reader wanting to read the next chapter. He ties world events together in a natural evolution that strings developments from one empire and world order to the next. He is able to set aside the brutality and colossal violence of the ruling regimes and still find advancement within those societies. I found the book very hard to put down.

More than excellent!

Terrible print job
Author is great but the printing is terrible. Very small font and they seem to be saving on the ink. The words are not black but grey. Cannot read for more than 10 minutes at a time. Hard on the eyes.

This is the high school history overview all need!
This book is it! every culture and continent is noted. Just the facts are told. Every historian should have this on the shelf and use it to teach the new history of the globe. It has the dates of who did WHAT to whom. Also the author a Ph. D and historian then makes some future conjecture that would make for great discussions. It is a bit dry as it does not go into the personality of let's say Napoleon, but never before has the whole globe been noted with all the voyages and wars in one place. A good winter read and it gets you up to date on the big world.
