Q: Does everyone have an issue with black smudge coming off on hands, clothes, carpet etc as some people have said?

At this point in our use of the club, haven't experienced this issue

Q: Has anyone compared bell clubs like these with David Weck's RMT clubs, which have a soft head filled with steel shot and are most commonly 4 lbs?

No but those sound more like Indian clubs so the movements would be different.I have a set of Indian clubs that are 2 or 3 pounds.
