Really a well-designed, easy-to-use prong collar. It is easy to put on and remove, it’s sturdy, with prongs thick enough for the most powerful dogs, and works well with my 10 month old, 80 lb. puppy—and weighs about 2/3 of my weight! I started him in obedience training, when I adopted him at 8 months old—and not previously trained.My trainer recommended this collar. I was amazed that because of the design of the collar, it instantly kept him on heel, next to me!It’s well-designed and humane. I bought an additional “quick release” fastener, which can be changed out, but the original one is easy enough, that I haven’t seen the need to change it out.In using it, I was taught to keep my pup beside me, and hold the leash straight up. As long as he stays on heel, there’s minimal pressure on the collar. He’s smart enough that, as I move, he responds quickly, naturally staying in position on heel. So it’s a great, effective training aid.It also gives me confidence that I can control him. Squirrels and every other moving animal and wind-blown leaf, seem naturally attractive to dogs. The collar provides safety that he’s going to stay under control, and not suddenly bolt after anything that moves—as happens outside.The collar is a great investment, works, and gives me confidence I won’t be pulled off-balance, which is an important safety feature for me, with a relatively large dog. He is growing, so I also ordered 4 extra prongs to attach. Being able to adjust the size easily, by adding or removing a few prongs makes this a practical design. As a precaution: the prong collar should be used only when working directly with a dog. Otherwise, it should be removed, to avoid accidental injury.

This is an excellent prong collar. I was reluctant to get a prong collar, always thought they looked cruel. But my dog trainer recommended one, and this one in particular because of the high quality ... every prong is smoothed so there are no sharp edges! Prior to getting this collar, I could barely walk my dog, he pulled, he lunged at bunnies, he just wasn't pleasant to walk with at all. First time out with this collar, he walked perfectly! I very rarely have to give him a little snap to remind him to stay with me, and now our walks are so pleasant! I could not be happier with this collar! It costs bit more than most, but for the quality and the comfort for my dog (NO rough pointy bits on the end of the prongs, not cruel!), it is WELL worth the cost! Changed our lives ... now we walk more because it's now a joy and no longer a chore. We get out and walk more ... good for me, good for my dog! THIS prong collar is humane and best of all, it WORKS! I highly recommend this collar!

This collar is wonderful. Please reconsider all the negative reviews about the quick release clasp. I watched many YouTube videos, and guess what ? There is absolutely no need for the black plastic cover!. All it does is cover the clasp. My collar had a good clasp and it was very easy to take off some of the links. It worked almost immediately on my 6 month Golden Doodle. Buy It, you won't be sorry!

Our trainer suggested this collar. We rescued a boxer puppy with severe leash aggression issues. After trying a muzzle, a vest, several different collars, you name it and nothing worked. She would see another dog on a leash and lose her mind. This a magic collar. I wish she didn’t need it but she for time being she does and has it taken our walks from an anxiety inducing outing praying we didn’t pass another dog to being able to walk her without incident. She loves to walk and meet people (just not other dogs!!) so it’s a win-win for both of us.Having said that - this is a collar that you definitely need to have good trainer fit to your pup and teach you to use. If fit and used correctly it doesn’t hurt them, it’s just a gentle behavior modifier.

This made a tremendous difference in managing walks with my shepherd lab mix. I no longer live in fear of being drug down the street. This dog is very, very strong and very stubborn. I do wish I would have gotten the collar without the quick release buckle and just used the prongs to remove or secure the collar. That black plastic thing is crazy, it falls off almost every use and frankly I am just going to throw that thing away as it a source of a lot of frustration. Collar is well made and does the job outside of that stupid plastic thing.

95% improvement for my 70 lb puppy when walking. She immediately understood that staying close meant no pressure. I tried a harness but that didn’t get her attention…she is like those cartoons that say “squirrel” when nothing, not commands nor treats/toys can refocus her attention back to me.Very important…watch YouTube to see how to use correctly. It is just a quick light jerk release to just get their attention Also lots of treats for when your puppy/dog is getting used to this collar.I’m around 70 yrs old and my puppy pulled me down when we first got her because she lunged on a regular leash. This leash really is a game changer! I feel much safer because she no longer lunges. I highly recommend this collar. It is pricy but it us well made.One more note…I don’t have to use it all the time. She is learning to heal without having the prong collar on.
