Starting new at tying flies I needed basic tools. These do the job well for a reasonable price. Everything I need for now, good function, good quality. Check with me in a few years to see if I stick with the hobby and found the need to upgrade. Would be a safe gift for a newbie fly boy or gal.

Scissors suck on heavy material( buck tails, large bulk cuts) and the bobbin is a smaller version. It would probably work amazing for the trout people, and it does okay for the bass/pike flies... just is to small for my liking. The rest of the tools is superb quality for the price. The only reason it's not 5 star is the scissors and it states it can handle large flies with ease.... EDIT I took a pair of needle nose pliers and put a little bend on the cutting part, and now they're alright in my left hand but still suck in my right... no clue lol

I like these tools very much, arrived quickly too !
