“GenUltimate! Value Priced Test Strips:” an excellent product at a bargain price.
Obtaining test strips for my OneTouch UltraSmart blood glucose meter has been a constant problem for me since 2014, when my health insurance provider (Tricare – insurer for the U.S. Armed Forces) arbitrarily decided that it would cover only one brand of meter and test strips – Freestyle Lite (which is a good product, even though I still prefer my trusty OneTouch UltraSmart). The test strips manufactured specifically for the OneTouch meters are prohibitively expensive for me, especially now that I am retired and living solely on a pension.I recently discovered “GenUltimate! Value Priced Test Strips,” a product I had never seen before. These test strips are a generic version of the OneTouch Ultra line of test strips from Lifescan, Inc. According to the GenUltimate label, they are intended for use only with Lifescan's OneTouch Ultra, Ultra2, and Ultra Mini meters. Since my older (but much more fully featured) OneTouch UltraSmart meter, which I’ve owned since 2006, isn’t specifically listed on the label, I wasn't sure the GenUltimate test strips would work with it. I decided to give ‘em a try anyway…I am very happy to report that “GenUltimate! Value Priced Test Strips” do, in fact, work perfectly with my OneTouch UltraSmart meter. They respond just as quickly, and with the same degree of accuracy, as the much more expensive brand-name test strips I was using previously.I recently purchased a pack of 200 “GenUltimate! Value Priced Test Strips” from Amazon.com for about half the cost of 100 brand-name test strips that I was paying full price for previously. Now I can test three times a day – every day – for about 2½ months before I have to buy more. That is an immense cost benefit for me and anyone else on a fixed income.“GenUltimate! Value Priced Test Strips” are just as accurate, reliable, and quick to respond as their brand-name cousins. This is an excellent product at a bargain price. Most highly recommended.

Lower-cost alternative to name-brand test strips
I've been using these for about two months now. I was previously using Wal-Mart's in-house brand strips, which were about 1/2 the price of the One Touch strips. These are even less expensive than the Wal-Mart strips, and the readings between the two only varied by about 4-5 points when I took several days of readings using both strips. I have no way of knowing which strips were the most accurate but figured they were both good enough for routine daily monitoring. My most recent laboratory analysis appeared to be in line with the results I've been obtaining with the GenUltimate strips so I plan to keep on using them.

So much cheaper compared to the branded one. These ...
So much cheaper compared to the branded one. These test strips are the reason I went with the OneTouch Ultra 2. After picking up the OneTouch Ultra 2, the test strips, and lancets, I was going to return them back to the pharmacy. With insurance the Ultra 2 was less than $15, the lancets were $8 for 100, but the strips were $50 after insurance for 100. That is just insane. I went online to research and was going to get the ReliOn since it has the cheapest test strips. I then found this GenUltimate test strips and it's even cheaper.

Accuracy and value
I have been buying this brand of test strips for the past 6 to 7 years and I have never had any problems with these test strips. I used to always buy in a pack of 2, but this time I am monitoring a little more tightly for which I need to test multiple times in a day and hence bought a pack of 4. I always thought that the ones you buy from the Pharmacy are very highly priced and there 's no need for it, if you are getting almost the same accuracy with these much cheaper ones. Great value for money!

Excellent accuracy!
HIghly accurate when compared to the One Touch strips, side-by-side with blood from same finger prick. No clue why US insurance companies don't just cover these strips.......cost to make them nowadays is extremely cheap. I highly recommend these. Shouldn't have to pay more than 27 - 30 bucks for 200 strips (many sellers, with many options on Amzn). I'm not sure about trying to use them in a One Touch mini (as I use) that was manufactured in/after 2016. (I see 1-2 other reviewers said something about that -- not sure of accuracy of that info at all).

Work just like the manufacturer's!
These work just like the manufacturer's test strips for the OneTouch Ultra series blood glucose meters at a fraction of cost, as long as you have an older meter. The meter I was using was manufactured prior to March 2016, just as the listing mentions, so these worked without issue and as expected. Being able to get strips at a lower cost is extremely helpful, especially when you don't have health insurance or insurance that will cover them.

Get enough blood on strip to avoid any error.
Great savings. Have only had 3 errors with these strips and it is only because I didn't get enough blood on the strip. After the second error I kind of figured out what was going on and what I did wrong so when I didn't get enough blood on the strip for the third time (before it even finished counting down) I knew it was going to say error. I make sure I lance deep enough and get enough blood ready now even if I have to lance again.
