3 levels of brightness, 3 ways to power.
This light is awesome. I uploaded 4 pictures. The light has 3 power setting: low, medium, high. My room is 10ft x 15ft and it lights it up bright. The light also has 3 different ways to power it. You can use 3 AAA batteries, one C battery, or a DC cord (don't know which DC cord is appropriate). I use this light to light up my gazebo when I have family BBQs. My gazebo is 20ft x 10ft so I bought two of these bad boys. I highly recommend this item.

Bright- Awesome battery life- Good Investment
I was skeptical ordering this product at first ... contemplating if I should go to get one of those expensive brand name like Coleman. But I decided to order this product due to my busy schedule and the product was under 10 dollar. So why not.I went on two camping trips with my Girlfriend. And I was glad I ordered this. I used the AAA batteries I picked up from the dollar store and one new set of batteries gave me two long night of usage.... That being said, it was set on the lowest setting which was still freakin BRIGHT! Honestly, the only time I used the highest setting was when I was cooking and I need a wide spectrum of light to see the whole picnic table at night.I don't know what you consider lightweight, but we are car campers and it is light for us. If you are a backpacker, I'm sure it's light enough for you clipping the device on the outside of your backpack as it does come with some very sturdy S clamps .If you are afraid of running out of battery, pick up 3 packs of AAA batteries ( the high drainage device ones ) at the dollar store, I guarantee you that if you camp for 4 night, you'll have extra batteries to bring home.

Sometimes you get what you pay for!
For a light at this price range I'm not sure what I expected. While it is decently bright on high, it's also cheaply made.Pros: This product is lower priced than some similar lights on Amazon. It will easily illuminate a small tent. I don't know about the 50ft claim, but I was able to light up a 12 x 12 tent on the highest setting, however 2 or even 3 of these lights would do the job much better. Being an LED light it should get pretty decent battery life.Cons: The light this thing produces, although decently bright on high, is extremely poor blue led light that is bad for visibility. Yes you can see, but you're gonna feel like you are in a gas station bathroom or someplace designed to be uncomfortable. Not great for hanging out with other people while camping or in a gazebo for a party. (I read similar comments in other reviews, but I was stubborn). This light is very cheaply made, if I had the chance to see it in the store before buying I'm not sure I would even pay 5 dollars for it. I don't see any sign of waterproofing on this thing, it's literally just plastic with no rubber to seal on the battery compartment or led board. If left outside it may last a while, but the battery compartment will definitely get wet. There is a small rubber stopper for a dc port, but It didn't come with any battery or a dc charger so not sure what that is for (maybe if you add your own rechargeable battery.) I wouldn't trust taking this camping. I would be very surprised if the cheap plastic housing would survive a drop, or even being packed with my camping gear without getting cracked. Guess I just bought myself a backup emergency light!

Nice, moderately bright light with good coverage when hung
I bought this for use as a lamp to use during camping, specifically to hang over the picnic table from our canopy. Although I haven't taken it camping yet, I expect it to work well -- it's bright (but not "ultra bright" in my book, despite its claims) and has a wide cast to its light, illuminating a very large area. This replaces another led lantern that emitted light in a 360 degree arc but, when hung from the top of a tent/canopy did not illuminate the areas below the lantern. The light can also be placed on a flat surface using the hanger to prop the light at an angle to illuminate a dark area (e.g. under a sink). I do wish the hanger would "lock" into multiple positions, but it looks like this is perhaps a feature of the next-gen version of this light. One minor word of warning: the light can use 3 AAA batteries or a "standard" 18650 battery. I use the word "standard" loosely because I ordered a couple of Intsun-branded 18650s from Amazon ( Intsun® 2pcs 3.7V 18650 4000mah Rechargeable Li-ion Battery with PCB and 18650 battery Charger for LED Flashlight, Headlamps, search light lamp, etc ) and found they didn't fit -- they were a couple of millimeters too long. I replaced those batteries with Refun 4pcs 3.7V 18650 4000mAh Protected Lithium Li-ion Rechargeable Battery for LED Light& Headlight& Headlamp& Handheld Flashlight& Torch with 1pcs Quick Smart Charge , which fit and work perfectly.

All things considered, not good enough
Pros:1. It DOESN'T have an SOS mode (thank you, Suboos). Simple button cycles through low/med/high/off.2. As the product description states, the light output and design is suited to tent camping. A small light you can hook at a high point to provide general lighting.3. Kinda cute and simple.4. Hook is useful, and light can hold its position somewhat to the angle you set, though it's not real stable.5. Fairly inexpensive. It's basically a flashlight.Cons:1. "Ultra bright" is an overstatement. It's good general lighting for a small space, like a personal tent. I bought it as a reading light for a small space, but it's not bright enough -- has to be about 1 foot from the book to be bright enough, so, would have to lay down and put it under my chin to read. Not. And that's on the brightest setting.2. It's not waterproof, so why call it "outdoor"?3. Why use AAA batteries? I never understand why flashlight manufacturers do that. And in this instance, replacing batteries is a tedious process of loading a cartridge (in just the right way) then installing the cartridge in just the right way.4. Cold, bluish colored light. Would be better if it were a warmer color. All things considered the "cons" outweigh the "pros" so I give it a thumbs-down.

Not very bright
I certainly wasnt as bright as expected and you would need a half dozen to provide reasonable light in our 10x10 dining tent which we purchased it for.
