Q: Are there 60 actual pages or is that 30 pages front and back?

This may help others for future. Most often, 1 sheet, means 1 full sheet of paper, both front and back; and 1 page is one side of one sheet. For example, 30 sheets would mean there are 30 individual pieces/sheets of paper and 60 pages to use if both front and back of each sheet are used. Like in a printed book, page 3 and page 4 may be printed on the same single sheet of paper, but are their own pages. If that clarifies. That's how I think of it at least. 邏

Q: If you have used the global art materials drawing book, how would you compare the two for wet media?

I have not used the drawing book, but I do know that any book labeled as "drawing" will not be as good for watercolor as one labeled as such, or as mixed media. I actually LOVE the watercolor journals. The Pentalic is heavier, but not a better quality paper and the binding is much inferior.

Q: Is the paper the same exact texture/surface on the back of each page? Can you paint on the back pages also?

It's not like a pad of watercolor where on side has a different texture. Both sides of the sketchbook paper are the same. Yes you can paint on both sides.

Q: What is the source of the paper sizing? I don't use paper with sizing made from pork by-products, which so many papers have.

I’m sorry, I have long discarded the packaging on this item and I can’t find anything on the actual sketchbook that says materials used to make it.
