Doesn't play well with Windows.
Won't recognize a perfectly genuine copy of Windows when you try to create a virtual machine from a Boot Camp partition. Thinks it is a bootleg copy. What's the point of this product if you can't use your existing copy of Windows?

Works great, switcher from parallels
"I sometimes wish amazon would sell software via the internet for pc systems. Just give us the code to unlock the software after we download it so we can avoid UPS's bad service :-)"Amazon customer service was great and sent me a free replacement no questions asked after UPS lost my package post black friday mail rush.I finally installed fusion and found that it works great so far on my new macbook pro retina display. Got both Vista and Quicken 2010 running without any major problems.I would definitely recommend this as a replacement for parallels if you have more than one mac and don't want to buy multiple licenses. You can even download a free trial before you actually get the key or buy the physical product from Amazon.I hate quicken's crippled mac os x products and I'm going to try switching to moneywell next year so I may no longer need to use fusion in the future just to run one old window's legacy product.

Perfect for running Windows or any other supported operating system in place of Apple's Bootcamp.
I purchased VMware Fusion 5 for my MacBook Pro and so far it has delivered as expected. I'm using mine to create several different operating system VMs on my Mac for different IT classes I'm taking in school. With VMware I'm able to quickly bring up, lets say, Windows 7 or Microsoft Server 2012 and have them run side by side while still running Mountain Lion OS X in the background. Installing and configuring a VM is a breeze with Fusion since all you really have to do is make a few selections and Fusion does the rest including configuring your user account on startup. There are several advantages for getting virtualization software like VMware Fusion 5. You can test updates, different operating systems, or run applications that are not compatible on your Mac in a virtual operating system without having to restart your computer like you would using Apple's Bootcamp. Saving snapshot of a clean instance of your VM is easy and rolling back to a snapshot takes only a few minutes if you ever need to rollback because of a virus or system corruption. One thing to be aware of is RAM usage if you plan on running more than one VM at a time.I'm running OS X Mountain Lion with 2.3GHz i5. When I first purchased VMware Fusion 5, I was running 4GB of Ram and had no problem running a VM or two. However, I sometimes noticed that my computer would slow down to a crawl because I needed more RAM in order to accommodate for the VMs I was running. I'm now running 16GB on my MacBook Pro and can run several VMs at the same time while having several applications running on OS X with no problems whatsoever. Point being, if you're like me and need to have several applications open while running Fusion 5, I would suggest you purchase more RAM so that your computer doesn't become sluggish.Overall Fusion 5 is a great product an I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to run Windows or any other operating system on their Mac.

Do NOT use for running Windows on your Macbook Air
I wanted to run Windows 8 on my Macbook Air so that I could have access Windows Excel. I used this product, Fusion 5, to run Windows 8 and had a terrible time. I switched to Parallels and it just works so much better. I can't explain why (I'm not a techie), but Parallels just works. All you Finance folks with Macs, just use Parallels, even if it sets you back a few bucks.

Nice Software However Not As Avertised
One of the selling points for me, was the fact that this software came with a one subscription to McAfee AV, and now supported Windows 8. The support for Windows 8 was there, but the AV that supported Windows 8 was not. More than 5 months later and countless emails, finally, VMWARE gets their crap together and issues a version of McAfee that will work. However, for me, it's about 5 months to late.

Fusion 5 Will Not Install Windows XP
The whole reason I bought this product was to install Windows XP on my Mac--which Fusion 5 will not do. Item description is misleading with its lack of such disclosure. The vendor would not refund my purchase. I wasted about $50.

I ordered this and the next day Fusion 6 came out.
I just ordered this and the next day Fusion 6 came out. Of course since it's software and I've installed it, can't return it and I'll have to fork over another $50 bucks to get Fusion 6.

Definitely better than older version of VMware Fusion
It general I'm impressed with the latest version. I use VMware fusion to run Ubuntu Linux on my MacBook Pro, not Windows. With this version of Fusion, the graphics is much faster, though still a ways to go compared to booting natively in Linux. One issue I've run into is that the display resolution is reset every time that I suspend and restart the virtual machine. Sometimes my MacBook Pro is hooked up to an external monitor and sometimes not. I want resolution to remain the same and there doesn't seem to be a way without resetting it every time. I've also had some issues with getting the key mappings to work, i.e. making the caps lock key an extra ctrl key. Despite these issues, I'm still very happy with this new version of VMware Fusion.
