LEGO City Off Road Fire Rescue (7942)

To paraphrase another LEGO reviewer: LEGO.MAKES.THE.BEST.TOYS.EVER.This is an outstanding value for the money for a LEGO product. The fire truck details, number of pieces, scale, accessories, colors, design, quality -- all superlative (even for LEGO!). The truck and its trailer behave better than expected under "normal" 4-year old play. Mommy had at least as much fun as he did while he put it together; then, a couple of days later, taking it apart and rebuilding it was equally entertaining. Hours upon hours of fun building and playing and crashing and running in circles around the coffee table.Amazon was also great with shipping, too, as they always are!

Got this set for one of my kids for his birthday. Gotta say, it's a great value for the money...I would have loved to have this set as a kid! Lots of accessories/tools for the firefighter, and I like the off road truck. The fire guy has an unusual SCBA/helmet assembly that I really like. My only complaint would be that you have to take the roof off the truck to put the guy in it...I prefer lego vehicles that have doors so you can just stuff the guy in it.Good: Excellent value for the money--you really get a lot.Bad: You can't just stuff the guy in the truck without taking the roof off.I'd definitely recommend it.

This was a gift for my five year old. Legos are no longer limited to the tub of assorted pieces from which you attempt to craft masterpieces that last just until your mother vacuums the rug. Nowadays Lego has pursued more thematic kits. They come with instructions so that any reasonably bright child can create exactly what is pictured on the front of the kit. That has some inherent satisfaction--everyone can be a Lego master. Besides, in the typical household, the kit will ultimately be blended into the big tub o' Lego and the fire pick-up truck will become but a fond memory with parts visible in much larger creations.Legos are great. In any form. For any age.

I have two of these little firetrucks they make up the backbone of my firefighting force. playability wise this set is great the truck is really nice, and the trailer comes with a ton of tools (axes, a hose, oxygen tanks, etc.) to play with. I think the value for money is great due to the great playability and as said milloins of tools.Now on to the actual set...VEHICLE:This is just a simple little red tuck you get of course the drivers wheel seat were they can sit, and the back of the truck has room for you to put a minifigure and some tools. My favorite lego truck.TRAILER:This to me seems like the main part of the set it has all of the essential tools a fire fighter needs like the hose,gas mask,fire extinguisher,axe,saw,and light. the saw,axe,and light come on a little tray that slides out once you open the back of the trailer. I sent this to my grandchild who loved it. It is a lego rescue toy that gets the young child the idea of service, of community, of working with others. It made a great addition to the positive time he spends with his father building with lego toys of many kinds. Great toy. highly recommended.

It is difficult to single out one LEGO set from the rest because the manufactured quality, effort, imagination and creativity are recognized in every single set, with no difference. In my opinion you cannot make a mistake, whichever you choose. I started bying LEGO sets long time ago and still, after all these years, I see that they preserved all the trademarks of their products and plus added some improvements over time. A job well done!

This was a Great toy at a great price - It took him a little while to put it together but it's meant to be a bit of a puzzle and he's 6 so no big deal. My nephew loved it and I recommend it!

Lego's are great all the time. My son is 5 and has been playing with it as soon as it came out of the box. I'm sure as he gets older he will be building more to his design as opposed to the instructions that came with the set. Lots of neat little accessories for the lego people. It has come a long way since I got my first set. I have all ready been told that I have to keep my Legos separate from his. Great set for the value.
