RISE AGAINST - BLACK MARKET - CD + T-SHIRT SET

This band can't seem to do any wrong anymore.
I can't believe these guys are so consistently fantastic. Nearly every song on this album is amazing which seems to be the halmark of Rise Against, their music gets better with each album unlike some other bands that wont be named even with their meteoric rise in a hybrid like fashion until their fall in December(ha, hints).Honestly though, this was a really great album and I'd highly recommend it if you're a fan of Rise Against. If you're not familar with their work Amazon's preview feature is fantastic, I'd recommend this and the last two albums by them, the stuff before that wasn't as enjoyable, for me at least.

This is a good album for Rise Against
This album has a nice feel to it. The lyrics are creative and the instruments sound great on the MP3 version. The songs have a higher energy to them and there aren't many slower songs. I put the album on when I'm working out lifting weights. The unique sound of the Rise Against vocals for whatever reason pumps me up and makes the workout more enjoyable. If you're a fan of Rise Against you should definitely pick up this album, but if you're considering this as your first purchase for the group, definitely buy it. You will enjoy it and not be disappointed.

LOVE THIS CD!
Great CD! Easily one of the most inspiring and politically charged albums out there. I would have left a 1 star because of the massive crack in the CD case, but I know this is due to shipping, which is on Amazon's side of things.

I like it!!
I know everyone thinks they are a music critic.... But I LOVE Rise Against and I really like this album. I do agree that it feels a little more like their older stuff, but it is also different form it and it totally sounds like the same band they always have been (I hate it when bands want to go in a different direction and they no longer sound like themselves). If you like this kind of music, (rock alternative/punk) i would highly recommend it.The Sell was great too! I got the CD in 2 days! It was packed well so it did not break during shipping

Best band ever hands down
Honestly if you haven't purchased all of Rise Against albums then you are short changing yourself. Best band ever hands down. If you get an opportunity to see them live sell you kidney if you have to. You cannot miss this band. They put on killer shows. If you are considering this cd I would say it's a great buy. If you don't own any of their albums buy any of them and you will be happy.

It's Rise Against all grown up and staying that way.
By far this is not the best Rise Against album. It's a continuation of their more grown up appeal and falls in line with Endgame and Appeal to Reason before that. The album does have a few songs that harken back to the days when Rise Against performed their more traditional punk songs but these new cuts are not as raw and emotional as the band once was. Genuine fans will enjoy the album but fans of the early works like R.P.M. will certainly be left wanting.

Much better than the last 2 albums
This album is solid the whole way through. If you're a Rise Against fan, buy it.For reference, I was a huge Siren and Sufferer fan, and thought the intervening 2 albums were awful. They were just flat and didn't have the energy of the earlier stuff. The Black Market is a bit softer and more accessible than Siren, but makes up for it with memorable lyrics, some heavy riffs, and catchy melodies.

Always been a huge rise against fan and love this album just the same
Always been a huge rise against fan and love this album just the same. Was hoping to get this at a concert of theirs I went to but there wasn't a merch tent.

It grows on you, for sure.
I was not overwhelmed by the album on the first play through - Appeal To Reason blew me away on the first listen so I was hoping for the same thing. However by the 3rd go round I loved it. The Black Market is more heavily produced than Appeal To Reason which was already a little too 'clean' for my taste but it retains enough of the musicality (signature tempo changes and soaring hooks for example) that make Rise Against who they are, to appeal to me.If you thought Appeal To Reason was too main stream then this album is probably not for you but I urge you to persevere to a 2nd or 3rd play through if you, like me, absolutely loved Appeal To Reason. Even at it's lowest point this album is one of the best I've heard in years, it is worthy of your money if you like this sort of thing. However, it's probably not for those who long for the days of Revolutions Per Minute and Siren Song of the Counter Culture.

and that is what they are beginning to sound like. They have gone from being one of the ...
Let me say first off I have all their previous albums and have seen them in Europe and the US I really rated this band up until Endgame which was passable but overproduced and had all the rough edges sanded off in the studio.I have a cover of them doing a Journey track, and that is what they are beginning to sound like. They have gone from being one of the angriest yet most articulate punk bands ever to sounding like a slightly miffed 80's MOR band.I don't know what has happened to them because there's still plenty to be angry about.

Another Amazing Album
Ok, so I'm biased here, Rise Against are my favourite band so of course I found this a brilliant album. This album isn't as diverse or as experimental as earlier albums but I think that's down to the band finding what they're best at than a lack of creativity.
