The frame information for your bike will suggest the proper spring rate (by rider weight) for that particular frame. Different frame geometries will require different spring rates for the same weight rider, so you must follow the guide for your frame. 3.25" is the number that represents the stroke of your rear shock. The stroke is the distance the shock piston moves from fully extended to fully compressed. Again, the frame manufacturer will provide this information as the required stroke is determined by the frame geometry and rear suspension travel amount. The 3.25" spring is for a shock with 3" stroke.

Big boy spring!!!
