How to Heal With Singing Bowls: Traditional Tibetan Healing Methods

The book I have been waiting for.
Today I received my copy of How to Heal with Singing Bowls. I didn't expect a CD to be included. That's a bonus and an excellent one too. I went at once and listened to the CD. It is a practical guide, step by step and easily followed. After an initial listening I gathered my five bowls and tried to follow along. As I had to determine their tuning this was only partially successful. I have now worked out their tuning. I really need two more bowls to complete the range that is desirable, but explanations are given how to work with just one bowl. Also the care of the bowls is explained and how to work with them to achieve best results. This is a very clear, comprehensive and practical text, with good photos and illutrations. I am delighted with the book and thank Suren Shrestha and everyone involved in bringing about this text. I expect to find great benefit and hope to help others benefit using with the methods described so well. The bowls themselves, so individual, are a joy to hold and hear. I am now going to order another copy for family members far away.

Pretty good but misleading
This is a practical book with some useful techniques and information. However, the problem with this book is that it comes accross like "this is the way it is." They say you need singing bowls in specific tunings and specific sizes, but that's not true. They say you have to do it this way and that way, but that's not true. I don't like how it is written as a prescription. Working with sound is very open ended - there are many tones and many ways you can go about it. If you take this book as a starting point and set of suggestions, then it's pretty useful. However, if you believe the author that "it has to be this way," then it is very limiting and mistaken. But it's great that they show how to arrange the bowls around a person and on the body. This is useful, but again there are many other ways you can do it. I have worked with signing bowls and sound healing for a long time. I think this book has good suggestions, but it's only a starting point and not as complete or authoritative as the author makes it sound.

Healing From a True Tibetan
What a wonderful Book ! Informative and inspirational ! Suren shares not only his vast knowledge of vibrational healing but his own personal spiritual journey. The study and practice of the Tibetan Singing bowls is a journey anyone can take and all who take it will benefit. I have incorporated many of Surens practices into my healing practice and all my clients LOVE it ! With all of the stress in the world it is so nice to be able to provide a well practiced method of bowl placement as well as the encouragement to venture outside of traditional placement and listen to your inner guidance. You cannot go wrong with this book. You will feel great and so will those around you ! Blessings !

very precise instructions - the perfect fit for me
Although the author points out (as do my mentors) that intention and what your inner voice is telling you is the most important aspect of spiritual/energy healing, i still feel a need to learn a particular method. I'm especially drawn to the Tibetan methods handed down over the years - this book is perfect for that.It offers very specific instructions - the bowl to play, how long to wait until playing the next bowl, placement, etc. for your specific purpose.NOTE: the Kindle version has no accompanying audio - so I recommend getting the "real" version that comes with the CD

Short, informative but need the CD.
I cannot wait to buy the edition that has a CD and a bowl to do this myself. Only trouble is-I'm not familiar with these musical scales in multiple notes, but am hopeful the CD will explain this and actually hearing it will help. I am impressed with the author's expertise and the information is given in a straightforward manner-not too lengthy and drawn out only to confuse a novice with too much information.

Singing Bowls
Great Book, just bought my first 9" singing bowl. This book is straight forward and points the way to how to use the bowls with reference to which tones to use for certain conditions, like high blood pressure, or just a relaxation treatment. He allows you to use your own intuition as well as his guidance. It is not bogged down with illnesses - a few examples and layouts. Good buy. Of course you can buy the book to learn to play the bowl for it's sound/s alone or meditiation purposes.

The CD alone is worth the purchase of this book
As newcomers to the practice of singing bowls this book is very informative and enjoyable to read. The CD is well worth listening to. I would love to go to one of Suren Shrestha classes. One of my must "do" things in life.
