I'm (still) a believer!!!!
UPDATE 8/11/18The grip heaters are still going strong. Know, however, that the ATV is used for work around the property and plowing snow in the winter, so actual hours are pretty low. The grips have worn (smoothed) just a little bit more than I think they should have under the use they've seen, but still a great product, in my opinion.EDIT 5/29/14Using these grip heaters over the winter has solidified my opinion that these are a "must-have" for any ATV used in cold weather. The heated rips coupled with good leather, insulated gloves kept my hands comfortable during a few several-hour plowing sessions in sub-zero temps. Even in mid-fifties weather this spring, it's nice to have them on the lower setting for just a little added warmth with light gloves.ORIGINAL REVIEWAs others have stated, these grip heaters WORK. The separately-set grip and thumb-warming elements allow for adjustment of each. (So far, I usually end up with thumb one notch higher than the grips.) Even on a "cool" rather than "cold" day, the heat is a welcome addition. Time will tell how they handle single-digit temps while plowing snow, but I have little doubt they'll be effective.Like others have suggested, I chose to connect the system to a key-switched power source. This provided two important things: 1) Automatic shut-off when turning off the ATV, and 2) A fused power supply. On my 2008 Grizzly 450, I used the accessory plug in the right-side fender. ...And don't worry, the system returns to the same settings it had before power was removed.Installation using the 3-times-applied WD40 worked like a charm, with the grips sliding on effortlessly. I will caution users, however, to twist the grip to the desired position immediately upon installation, as waiting even 5 minutes will result in a grip that is almost immobile.Since I'm rather particular, for the left grip, rather than having the wire run around the switchgear, I removed the switch assembly and, using a Dremel tool, cut a small relief notch in both sides the plastic housing. This allowed me to run the wire *through* the switchgear, instead, making for a cleaner installation.If/when we add another ATV to the herd, these grip heaters will be one of the first modifications made.

So far so good
I installed these on my Kawsaki BF750. I cut the old grips off and sanded the residue down. I sprayed the bar with leak detection soap solution and easily pushed the new grips into place. The thumb heater placed easily and the heat shrink secured it. I did fill the connectors with dielectric grease to minimize corrosion long term. I used piggy back spade terminals to power the unit from the 12V convenience outlet. I turned the mounting bracket the opposite way of the instructions to hold the control box closer to the handlebars. The dimming feature is a nice touch. I am going to spend a week in the mountains soon enjoying my new purchase. I would have liked to acquire the Winter Pak controller and a seat heater as well. At least this covers the hands which get cold first... Overall a good product even though it's over 100 bucks...11-16 I wish they had the large rubber ring on the inner bar like stock. I spent a week in Moab which included two days riding in the rain down to the 20’s. The heated grips were worth their weight in gold. The wife also likes them around the farm on cold fall mornings. I use them all the time. Great addition to the ATV.

Awesome!
I love these grips. We recently bought a used atv and it had these grips on it; I liked them so much that I bought a new set for my other atv.The set I received was actually Heat Demon by Symtec; the exact same things just has a black controller in stead of the grey one. It was a pleasant surprise as i actually wanted the heat demon for the black controller but didn't feel like paying extra for the exact same thing just in a different colour.Anyways! The install was very easy with on a 2013 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. I soaked the grips in hot hot water for a few minutes to soften them. I did this after one failed attempt at installing one of the grips. So if you want to save yourself a bit of a hassle soak them in hot water. The grips and thumb warmer get hot! Its awesome! I went on a good long ride this morning; my first real test with the grips. It was 8-10 degrees celsius and they kept my hands and thumb nice and toasty on a mid range setting without need for gloves. The grips were very solid and comfortable. Even on the hottest setting for a long period of time they did not loosen or spin. The controller is very easy to use and is not overly large. The ability to dim the lighting will be a very handy feature for riding in low light conditions.I would without hesitation recommend these to anyone and will be buying another set when the time comes.Needless to say I couldn't be happier!

Nearly perfect...
I have used this product for a Minnesota winter now and feel qualified to give an opinion worthy of what I would want in a review.Installation was a breeze...definitely do what others say and warm the grips up so that you only have to do it one time. If you let them cool and they aren't where you want them, you will be a grumpy guy getting them in a different position. All the electrical connections and such are a breeze. The product works...the grips and thumb are/is perfect for plowing in the winter with my gloves on. Even in the fall or spring, I will turn them on a lower setting to give me a little reprieve from the cool air. Without gloves on and with the settings on high, they are short of being too hot to handle...but absolutely uncomfortable. So the product heats, absolutely. My only gripe...is that the piece that hols the selector switch onto the handlebars is made of plastic and I can see it breaking someday. I would have easily paid $5 more if the main casing and handlebar attachment would have been a simple stamped aluminum or something. Seriously...plastic? People who buy this product are going to be in places where the temps get cold...and plastic that gets old and cold...breaks easily.
