A godsend for our older apartment
I recently purchased the AIRCARE MAF2 Replacement Wicking Humidifier Filter for my humidifier, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The filter was incredibly easy to install, and it fits my humidifier perfectly. I noticed a difference in the air quality almost immediately after installing the new filter. The filter is made from high-quality materials, and it has done an excellent job of trapping impurities and improving the overall air quality in my home. I especially appreciate that it's a wicking filter, which means it uses evaporative action to provide natural humidification, rather than relying on chemicals or other additives. One thing I really appreciate about this filter is how long it lasts. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and it still looks and performs like new. Plus, it's very easy to maintain and clean, which is a huge plus.Overall, I would highly recommend the AIRCARE MAF2 Replacement Wicking Humidifier Filter to anyone who needs a reliable, high-quality filter for their humidifier. It's affordable, easy to use, and it has made a noticeable difference in the air quality of my home. Five stars!

Buy the Aircare brand name, not cheapo other filters.
I really don't get how most people write such whiny reviews about products that have nothing to do with the product itself. Wrong size? You probably bought the wrong filter. Don't like the price? You should have looked at replacement filters before purchasing your humidifier. Not happy with the seller? Leave them bad feedback, don't tell me about that here unless you mention the exact seller so I can avoid them. We've had our humidifier for a few years now and we live practically on the Canadian border. Ambient air temp last night was -1 F (last year at this time is was -10 F). At those temps the air is very dry and I fill our humidifier about every 6 hours. I've also tried lots of different filters, the mineral additive stuff, and cleaning them. Our water is also fairly hard. So here is my take on these filters:Get the the name brand Aircare filter, anything else won't last. The Aircare filter does not have a bad smell, as some reviewers have mentioned, and its a perfect fit for the units its designed for. Maybe some sellers are passing off cheapo filters for Aircare ones, I bought mine directly from Amazon. Yeah, so they might be a little stiff when dry and in the packaging but it really is no big deal. Install it dry, or pre-soak it, either way works and it is an equal small pain to install. I've also purchased a variety of filters from Home Depot and homedepot.com. Again unless its the Aircare brand (which is not stocked in our local stores) they are junk and only last a few weeks at most, even with the tips I listed below. The best tips I can give besides to go with the Aircare brand filter are: 1) Do not let the filter dry out. I've found once the minerals dry into the filter it doesn't like to absorb water anymore. Don't let your humidifier run out of water. The cheapo filters are even worse for this. 2) If your filter is starting to get mineral build up soak it in water and white vinegar. The sooner you do this the better and it really works. I should take photos to show it but I'm too lazy. Cleaning cheapo filters doesn't seem to work as well as it does on the Aircare. I've tried other vinegars too but I don't think they worked as well so use the white vinegar. 3) The mineral additives do help but I'm not sure they justify the extra price and they don't work all that great from my experience. They also make the bottom tray all slimely and I never did figure out what the stuff is or if its safe. I tried the additive with a cheapo filter and still only got a few weeks out of it. I only use hot water to fill the tank because I read the hot water tank can help remove minerals. Doesn't make a ton of sense but it why not try it? I also flip the filter over every so often or after cleaning it with white vinegar. Some of these tips are not exactly confirmed but it doesn't hurt to try. Maybe someone else can confirm some of these ideas.

This is a repeat order as I ordered the same items from the same supplier last year. Quick mailing, packaged well, and the filters my humidifier requires. Appreciate the ease of ordering and receiving.

The wicks not the problem, it's the water
Came on time and as promised. Other reviewers have commented that they came flat and had an odor, mine did not, came in the same box, and in the proper shape to install, as another one I bought earlier in a big box store and with no odor at all. A bit pricey but I love this humidifier and a few bucks for the wick doesn't bother me at all. Will buy againWell, I did buy again. This time came in a flat box, but only minor hassle getting them in correctly. I've had no problem cleaning them. I soak them for six hours in a 70 percent white vinegar mixture in a bucket, thoroughly spray it out and let it dry. 2 filters last all winter.ADDING TO THE ABOVE: Something happened to my water this year, it became harder than in the past years and seems to have more calcium and other nasties. Wick became clogged within a week and cleaning with vinegar became impossible. All of my neighbors without softeners expressed the same opinion. We had a major water main project and we are guessing that caused the problem. Going through a wick a week was simply unacceptable. I tried a couple of things before buying a water softener and a whole house filter, or dragging in distilled water (which I don't want to do), both worked, but both are a bit of a hassle.1. Melting snow. Worked well until the weather warmed and the snow went away. Also, melting enough snow, running it through a filter so it's not dirty is a hassle and just going to the store to get distilled water made more sense. But it did work. Filter did last much longer.2. Adding Washing Soda to tap water. Washing soda has been used forever to "soften water" so I gave it a shot. I add two teaspoons of Washing Soda (found in the detergent section of Supermarket) per gallon of water and agitate it. At first I thought this was only a possible success as the wick quit taking water in two weeks and when I removed the filter it was mostly hard as a rock.I did notice that the part of the wick that was always submerged looked brand new. So I filled my sink, using the same mixture I outlined above (two teaspoons washing soda per gallon of water) and put the wick in it to soak. After 30 minutes I rinsed the filter out and let it dry out and it is almost like new. I don't know why, but it appears the experiment has worked.Hope this helps.

Smelly at first
For the first few days, the humidifier emitted a plastic-y smell. It slowly dissipated but was strong for the first two days. This had not happened with previous wick filters for this same unit from this same supplier. Other than this, it's fine.

J’étais supposé en avoir 3 pour ce prix là mais les recherches sur amazone sont trompeuses alors j’ai reçu la commande et ça revenait presque le double du prix comparé à Canadian Tire achat en ligne pas agréable
