Absolutely pointless!
Get ready for it… yep that’s a slug gliding over the copper tape sold for the very purpose of preventing slugs from coming into our kitchen from the inlet every night! Little matey here seemed to enjoy his journey across the lovely sparkly threshold. The purchase was absolutely, 100% POINTLESS. Save your money. I’m letting the kids use the rest of it for their art projects as it is very shiny. Kids love shiny stuff. Turns out so do slugs.

****updated review**** Not the same quality that it used to be.
*****updated review*****I bought this years ago and successfully grew a courgette plant and no slugs passed the tape so now I’ve built a raised bed I thought I’ll buy it again. It’s just not the same quality tape I got the first time round. It tore easily when applying and even when taking the cling film type wrap of it - it split the tape down the centre and it was unusable. Disappointing and definitely not the same quality that it used be.——————————————————————Original review..This product has the feel of a good quality heavy tin foil in tape form. It wasn’t flimsy or thin and was more than sticky enough to do the job. I dry wiped my pots to ensure no dust before applying. I’ve only just planted my plants in these pots and I take it that’s the best way to approach the control of pests. If you already have a problem the tape can do little for you. Many slugs burrow under the soil during the day so will already be present in your pots. I’ve applied this to four medium to large pots and I still have a small amount left. You can’t get it smooth, it does wrinkle but it is still aesthetically pleasing and as long as it does the job I’m happy. I will update my review should any slugs manage to cross this.

Makes for great EMI shielding
I had no idea about slugs and copper until I needed research and buy some copper tape to help with some shielding on a cable I have between two electrical components. I can't comment on the slugs like or dislike to this product, but it certainly did the trick when it came to wrapping the cable. A couple of winds around followed by a layer of insulation tape and the interference was gone. You might as my not just swap the cable, but it's not that simple - it's attached to a load-cell with individually soldered wires on the other end on a hidden circuit board. This was by far the simplest way to achieve the result I wanted.

Slugs yes, snails no.
I bought one roll of this for my little girls flower pots as we didn't want her touching the blue slug pellets. Or the frogs from the pond eating the slugs after eating the pellets! We put it around the plant pots double width (we read from another reviewer slugs can arch their bodies over) so ran out pretty quickly, leaving half of the pots without it. The next few days, we found the plants with the copper tape were untouched, but the ones without we were finding exploded slugs all over (from the left over slug pellets sadly). We've bought more and protected all the other plants, taken all the slug pellets away and we honestly haven't seen any more slugs except in one pot the day after, which I suspect we accidentally trapped in there when we put the tape on!!! We have seen them in the planters on the wall though that we obviously can't protect. However, this doesn't work on snails!! When I spotted a snail crawling across the patio I stuck some copper tape in front of him, and the little slimer went straight across it no probs! Despite this, I will deffo buy copper tape every Summer to keep the slugs away, it works fab! Just make sure you clean it every so often.

great stuff...
Bought this item a few weeks ago and got to work wrapping a raised veg planter with it. I put two layers of tape, one above the other with no gap in between as I've read on the web that the little slimy bu**ers can actually arch their bodies over a thin strip of copper. Hopefully now the amount of arching required will be too big even for the biggest slugs. Must say that so far the tape is doing the trick, no attacks from slugs or snails and I've got hundreds of the them in my garden. The tape is super sticky so grips really well and is a doddle to put on. It even seems to repel ants, which are another headache for me. Only thing I would suggest really would be wider tape so that no doubling up would be required, but I guess it's easy enough to do yourself.Very happy with it, would definitely buy more if needed. It clean, green and no nasty horrible chemicals around my veg :)
