Very good for long walks
We grabbed these hiking sticks because we go for long walks nearly every day. They really do a good job of doing what they need to do.

Measurement did not match ad
Thought with the measurement posted I could carry it in a backpack, but it did not fit. Too bad, because it seemed like a good walking stick.

Very nice!
These are my first pair of walking sticks and they are doing the job just fine. I love the cork handles, they are super easy to adjust and stay put once fastened, and are helping me with my balance during walks. Bonus points for my doctors taking me more seriously now and drivers being more polite!

Lightweight Adaptable Poles
I’ll first say that to my eye, these are pink and not purple as claimed. That’s my eye. Maybe I’m wrong but I felt a bit like I was using Blossom’s of the Powerpuff Girls, trekking stick. Unlike the sticks my wife uses, these come with several switchable ends to cover trekking through snow or mud. The snow ones are smaller than you’d find on true ski poles but still clearly better than just a stick or the rubber cane-like ends. The bottom of the sticks with the rubber tip removed is a metal spike the manufacturer says is tungsten carbide. I tried scratching a few rocks to test this and while I can’t certify the material, it did seem quite hard. The manufacturer says that aluminum is superior to carbon fiber for trekking poles and I agree. The difference in mass between carbon and aluminum is trivial but carbon, if scratched, will break with surprisingly little pressure. Having a pole collapse under you when you’re counting on it will ruin your whole day. Doubly so if you’re near a drop off.The cork handles were comfortable during my all day trek and the poles deploy and collapse quickly, easily and surely. I often leaned on one of these poles during breaks. I got zero slippage. My only question left is how they’ll hold up since they are remarkably light. I’ll edit this review if, over time, my opinion of them soars or sinks. At this point, though, recommended.

Good quality trekking poles compare favorably with name brands
***UPDATE***My girlfriend and I used these trekking poles on a recent Black Friday hike in the San Gabriel Mountains and the flip-lock on the pole I was using kept slipping, no matter how hard I tried to tighten the knob. Granted I didn't have pliers on the hike, so I couldn't tighten the flip-lock tightening knob beyond hand tight. I'll see what I can do with the Flip-Lock and give the pole another try. By the way, my girlfriend didn't have any issues with her pole. Anyway, I've added a photo from the hike and will keep the four-star rating for now.***END OF UPDATE***I've used a few different trekking poles in my time and, I have to say that based on the build and apparent quality, the Hiipeak Lightweight Adjustable Trekking Poles compare favorably with them all. My longtime favorites are my trusty Black Diamond flip-lock trekking poles, which I've taken on numerous mountain trails. But these Hiipeak trekking poles look very similar. See the comparison photo of the Hiipeak and the Black Diamond and a Kelty. I look forward to using them on a few hikes and expect good results. For one, they feature the far more durable and practical flip-locks instead of the more typical twist-locks. I like that. Anyway, I'll update this review after using these poles on a few hikes.

Good for winter hike stability, stream crossing, watch the clip, though
We hike, and The Teens have enjoyed taking the Hiipeak Lightweight Trekking Poles out with our Mountain Club of MD shakedown hikes for an upcoming Rocky Mountain family vacation. They were able to (eventually) sort out assembly (teen inertia, not attributed to the poles), and they carry well sticking out of a daypack (they are a little long) They work well for distance at a moderate pace because they are lightweight and sturdy. They clips have mostly held, but we did use some duct tape to hold one in place as it seemed to develop a bit of play, when it was previously firm. The real challenge will be the sections of the AT in the Spring - the rocks have stolen some tips from other poles, so we are hopeful these will stay firm. Good poles at a nice price.

Wonderfully light, and make a real difference.
I've been trying to get more active by hitting the local trail, and while I wouldn't say I *need* a walking stick or trek poles, having used them for a few months now, they're awesome. At 45, I'll admit, I felt just a little "old man" with these, and didn't think I'd like them. But man, they really do make a world of difference on inclines. Not so much "I can't get up without them" but they really do ease the strain on your calves and lower back by giving you just that little bit of stability to stay more upright. It's pretty rare that I'll go all five stars on budget sporting goods, but I really couldn't think of anything that would have made these better. They actually made me more open to taking longer trails and going out more often.

Sturdy with a longer than average extended length
Bought for a tall man with right sided weakness after a recent stroke. The longer length is perfect for his needs as it enables him to stand & walk in an upright, central position. Anything shorter results in him leaning over all the time. The handle is strong & easy to grip with the added safety issue of a wrist strap.

Broke on first use.
Might be alright for light use, but by the time I was half way up a munro the screws were falling off.

Lightweight and good value
I have been using these poles at least once a week since I purchased them 15 months ago and I am pleased with them. They were very good value for money
