White Savior Complex + Stamina for daaaayyyysssss
I don’t normally write reviews, even for books that I like, but this genuinely rubbed me the wrong way. Madison Kate was a likable, good heroine (if a little headstrong and irritating at times)… there was absolutely no need to give her a savior complex. It felt very forced to me. Even the writing was different; all of the boys practically sound the same on paper, and the mashing two weddings into one novella when the (in my humble opinion) worst love interest of the three got a huge pivotal moment in the OG series felt like a disservice to them both. The one thing I did appreciate was the SPICE. Miss Thing is great about delivering in the bedroom department, but she really ramped it up for the novella. There was more spice in the first twenty pages of this than there was in half of the first MK book, maybe even more.

Welcome back to the world of Madison Kate!
Welcome back to the world of Madison Kate! This time line does aline with Hades so if you haven't read that series start there then come back to this cause it will give lots of spoilers. When Madison Kate and her men have to protect Seph for Hades in Italy, they don't say no cause it's Hades! When things go sideways and they are no longer protecting Seph, they decide to go to Japan to meet Kody's mom. Kody sets up the perfect end to their little happy moment, when they wake up on the next morning they find out that the priceless pink diamond was stolen from the vault. MK has to figure out how it happens and what went down with the history of the mines she inherited. Don't worry Steel gets his HEA as well in this book with MK.This book was the perfect just little ending that I needed for MK. I also loved the Pink Panther vibes of the story! I was in love with getting back into the MK world and seeing and hanging out with these characters again! I really missed them. I love that we see the relationships have really evolved and see what they are thinking with having the multiple POVs. I love the discussion about what it can look like for an HEA as well in Japan, I thought that was a very important point that was made in this story!

I love this series. I found it because of Tik Tok and devoured the MK and Hades series once I did. I love the depth of this series in particular. Often in RH romance, it can cone across as cheesy or over-the-top. That isn't the case here. The characters are both complex and dynamic. The storyline is just as important as the incredible steamy times. This was a great chance to dive back into this world. I'm not really sure what the whole point of the diamond/vault part of the story was about as it didn't really enhance the overall story with the characters. At first, I thought it was going to be something that would tie into a spin-off but, I'm not sure that is it. Regardless, I loved getting a chance to see Madison Kate, Archer, Steele, and Kody again.

geared towards the big MK fans
I am unsure how to feel. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this author, her talent for writing steamy stories with actual depth, characterization, and plot makes her one of my top five go to authors that I always read and recommend to friends.I’m unsure how I feel because those are the expectations I have from this author, and I have to say this novella really only had the steam factor. I am trying to bare in mind that this was a novella which in itself means short story, but I can’t help but feel a little disappointed and cheated that there wasn’t any real story. It’s basically like an extended epilogue. It really wasn’t a story with any real conflict. The whole diamond situation (what the book was named after) felt like an afterthought and only took up like no more than 3 chapters and was at the end of the book, I’m about 90% certain the whole thief situation (Hermes) , was an Easter egg to be brought up later on possibly in the guild series or another series all together as part of that world, and I’m sure it’ll be fantastic, but for now it was disappointingly vague (Hermes was brought up in the first guild book). This book was geared towards the die hard MK fans who wanted an extension to the series, a “where are they now” if you will, and honestly, it didn’t even deliver that, as it’s still set up in the same timeframe and it wasn’t like years had passed. It was more like how she marries the other two guys and then she had to put in some conflict so it rounded this into a story. Was this well written with no editing or grammatical errors? Absolutely. Was there some awesomely hott smutty scenes? Absolutely, and I am totally here for it!And there’s nothing wrong with that, but really 85% of this book was sexy times and honestly there’s only so many railings I can read about till it gets boring and monotonous.I read Tate’s books because she writes a beautiful blend of smut and plot with masterful world building, and I hate to say it bc I love and have the greatest respect for her, but this book was an over hyped dud. A tantalizingly beautiful book cover with nothing worth gushing about on the inside and that hurts me to say it.

Yupppp
@tatejamesauthor Got our bottoms with this one. The novella we all wanted but was told no and now here she is lol.⠀She was short, she was easy, she was spicy and action packed. This story happen in the middle of the Hades series so if you haven't read Hades yet dont read this or you'll spoil it for yourself.Seph is still a spoiled demon I want to spank and not in a sexy way lol.Steele, Kodiak, and Archer are still sexy and protective and wicked with their bodies.⠀MK⠀is still sweet as pie and wicked as sin with her men.I love the 2 large events we get in this book (wink wink.I still am obsessed with Hades even though we only here from Sir through phone calls.storyline 🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙Spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

Yes 🙌🏼
Yes. Just yes. This was the best typo ever. I love MK and the guys, so getting to be back in their orbit for a little while was so good 😍We get a little bit of crossover here with the Hades series, and then the rest is pure MK and the guys. What they got up to after Italy and then potential future plans. I just loved it, but then, I love everything about this world that Tate has created and continues to branch out from. It’s a little short, a little dirty, a little actiony (shush, it’s a word), a little sweet. A little bit of everything you need to be back in their orbit again.

Four stars
Stars given on level of engagement;5 stars - less than a day to read because I cannot put it down. I only give 5 stars if it has managed to engage extra emotions from me - extreme lol moments or real teary moments etc. A 5 stars book tends to have me raging about cliff hangers and (legally and not creepily) stalking the author for release dates.4 stars - 2 days to read or less. A book that I have quite enjoyed reading, feisty MC and some racy scenes with thier romantic interest. I would definitely follow a series and author for 4 star books.3 stars - takes around 2/3 days to read, usually because I have become distracted and less engaged in some sections but by the end the end I have enjoyed the overall story and would read any sequels.1/2 stars not given, as I have usually returned it without finishing as I'm not engaged. .

Great little read.
This is a quick novella from Tate and is part of the Madison Kate series but also has some spoilers from the Hades series so I would defiantly read those books before you read this one. This is book takes place between Club 22 and Timber from the Hades series and slots in there perfectly. This takes you back to MK and her guys when they are trying to keep Hades sister safe and its an awesome, quick and steamy read that will sizzle of the pages.MK is still as sassy has she always has been and seeing her spark and her spunk was great. She has her guys right where she wants them. When something happens at the diamond mine she is needed as the owner.I love this authors writing and all her series are freaking amazing. I loved the characters and how this author brings them all to life so beautifully that its like you are visiting old friends. Thank you Tate this was amazing.

Vault
This was a bit of a different storyline intertwined with events happening in hades series. This was about being in Italy protecting Seph when all goes wrong. They vacation elsewhere to a void Hades's wrath back home along the way there are weddings, thieves, diamonds, business, intrigue, drama, danger, chemistry, passion, love and a ghost from there past. This was a great side story and love seeing all the characters evolved.

A novella I didn’t know I needed but definitely did!
Oh man, it was so good to return back to MK and her men and fill in some of the parts of them from Hades story. I loved every minute of this novella, it was like coming home to an old friend. Although with added steam and can’t forget some drama! It was brilliant.
