Good value , great taste.
Ok, I don't admit to be a coffee conessuere, and for this reason I decided to take a gamble on the 'Extra Bits' coffee where it is an undefined mix of different roasts, for a reduced price. I wasn't disappointed. Good flavour without bitterness. I'm sure there may be better tasting coffees out there, but for the price , I feel, it makes a lovely cup. My only concern is, when I re-order , will I get the same quality as the mix is random. I'll let you know....

Strong and pleasant
My first impression, when I opened the bag, was a bit of confusion. The beans were not very dark despite the name ''intense roast'' which was not a problem for me. The smell was quite pleasant but not very strong which led me to question the freshness of the coffee. To make an espresso I use my SAGE machine and the crema was very impressive. As for taste, the coffee is well balanced. The beans are not overroasted so there is very little bitterness and not much acidity which is good. The only thing I could wish for was perhaps a bit more aroma. The caffeine content seems to bit quite high as this coffee makes me feel awake and alert - not every coffee archives that those days.

I keep coming back to it
I get through a kilogram bag a month, and like to try different stuff; but this is the one I keep coming back to, usually after a month of disappointment at some artisan single-origin thing with a long spec sheet. You'd expect "waste reduction" odds & sods blends to vary, but this one just seems to be consistently good!

Something missing
Its average at best, very mild aroma and taste, more like a light roast. For the price I'm not sure what I'm getting over my tastier just as strong supermarket beans £10.50kg. Seems a few brands in big black 1kg bags just slapping different labels on the same low quality beans and selling them overpriced.

Great tasting coffee.
Smooth dark roast with a fantastic crema. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending this brand.
