Field and Laboratory Methods for General Ecology

I am beginner's ecology. This I have only had Statistics 101. This book is heavy duty statistic formula textbook and its dated but formula's don't change. I am hoping in the future I will be able to utitilize this better.

I have worked in the field of ecological consulting for over 25 years. This book is indispensable for formulating surveys and monitoring as well as doing simple effective statistical tests. The formulas are well laid out and can easily be adapted to a spreadsheet. The techniques, and variations and adaptations, are well described. I would not be without this book. Don't be fooled by the date of publication. It isn't as if ecologists are replacing their field techniques.

It's basically a giant book of ecology equations and methods. I don't find it very helpful as a Portland State University student, but others might.

The book is well written and well formatted, my only complaints are: some of the equations are incorrect, and the book looks a bit dated. Otherwise I would recommend.

I bought used but paid more because I thought I would need the disk, but its a floppy! Don't pay more for the disk, it's no use.

Have not used it yet but my boss swears by it, it is used as reference on environmental studies papers.

A waste of money.
