I don’t have a bike computer can I use this with the iPhone/app only, no computer needed?

Yes. You can use the Wahoo app. You don't even have to create an account with Wahoo.

Does this work for indoor cycling on a trainer, with connection to an iPhone, without a bike computer? I can’t seem to pair it with any apps so far

Hello, please use "Magene Utility" app to get it connected, then use it with your indoor cycling app. It works with most of the popular apps. Please contact us directly if you need any further help.

will this record total count of spins per ride session, (not just per min)?

It would seem the device is capable (it just counts...), but depends what your app/computer will report. My Wahoo element bolt only gives rpm........

Is this compatible with Magellan Cyclo 505 Bike Computer

Yes it is, both Magene S3+ Sensor and Cycle 505 bike computer are ant+ compatible, they will work with each other.
