Inimitably great game
One of the greatest games ever made. Too bad what happened to the studio afterward is exactly what the game warns against.

A Masterpiece of Writing and Role-Playing on PS4
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut on PlayStation 4 is hands-down one of the most original and brilliantly written games I’ve ever played. Instead of typical combat or grindy quests, the focus is on dialogue, investigation, and shaping your character’s mind. Every choice feels like it matters, and the voice acting in this edition brings the script to life even more. The game plays smoothly on PS4, with intuitive controls for what is essentially a very text-heavy RPG. The world of Revachol feels lived-in, gritty, and full of surprises. Even after finishing it once, I’m already thinking about replaying with different personality stats and moral choices because the branching paths are that deep. ✅ Bottom line: If you value story, atmosphere, and true role-playing freedom, this version of Disco Elysium is an essential addition to your PS4 library.

Masterpiece
As a fairly casual gamer I was amazed at how quickly Disco Elysium became one of my all-time favorites. This game does a great job of unique storytelling with an even more unique story. I found this super refreshing in a gaming market that sometimes feels like it is flooded with similar games. Without going into too much detail the story focuses in on you a detective who has lost your memory. Gameplay is like a choose your own adventure book trying to pick the correct questions to ask to figure out your past. You can utilize your abilities to take different approaches to each situation and pick actions where you excel. The story is fantastic and I'm confident anyone who enjoys a bit of drama, with some dark humor mixed in will have a great time.

Amazing Game, Solid Port
While movement can feel a bit odd at times, especially when navigating really tight corners, this is a wonderful port of a truly amazing game. Disco Elysium is a role playing game with phenomenal voice acting that takes place in the middle of labor strike, after a recent lynching. You play a detective, and your job is to solve this murder with your partner Kim Kitsuragi. You’ll come face to face with talking neck ties, talking corpses, racists, mega racists, communists, capitalists, child labor, haunted buildings, alcoholism, drug dealing kids, and so many more weird and interesting characters. I guarantee you, you’ve never played a game like this. You gotta give this a try!

Kim Kitsuragi Dating Sim
Kim Kitsuragi dating sim, or one of the most incredible, thought-provoking, emotional experiences you'll ever have playing a video game? Both.

Play this game.
Disco Elysium is a masterpiece. I bought it for switch also. I rambled about it on my switch review. Like a choose your own adventure book written by a savant. Pretty much I’m still playing and replaying this game after a month. One of my favorite games and the story of this game happening is quite interesting as well. Play it.

A Brilliant, Hilarious, and Deeply Human Game That Will Leave You Wondering What Just Happened
Disco Elysium is like the lovechild of Raymond Chandler and Franz Kafka, if that lovechild was raised on a steady diet of Eastern European nihilism and 80s synth-pop. It's a game that's simultaneously a murder mystery, a political satire, and a psychological mindf***, all rolled into one. It's the kind of game that could make you laugh, cry, and question the very meaning of existence, all in the span of five minutes. At times, it's like playing a Choose Your Own Adventure book, but instead of being a swashbuckling hero or a mystical wizard, you're a washed-up detective with a severe alcohol problem and a split personality disorder. You'll navigate through conversations with other bizarre and broken characters, as you try to piece together the puzzle of a gruesome murder case that may or may not be connected to a global conspiracy. And if that sounds convoluted, well, that's because it is. But in the best possible way. The writing in Disco Elysium is top-notch, with some of the funniest, saddest, and most poignant dialogue I've ever encountered in a game. It's the kind of game that rewards you for exploring every nook and cranny, for talking to every person, for trying every possible combination of skills and items. And yet, it never feels overwhelming or tedious. It's a game that respects your intelligence, your curiosity, and your sense of humor. Overall, if you're looking for a game that's as thought-provoking as it is entertaining, as weird as it is wonderful, and as ambitious as it is accomplished, then Disco Elysium is the game for you. Just don't expect to leave it with your sanity intact.

Unusually Addictive Adventure
Engrossing story that gives you plenty of freedom to define your character as you wish. Plenty of cool areas to explore, and the worldbuilding is very well done. Be prepared for plenty of dialogue but it's all cleverly written. I have not finished the game yet but it's been a great experience so far. My only complaint on the PS5 version is that selecting objects can be quite finicky.
