The Universe: The book of the BBC TV series presented by Professor Brian Cox

I bought this book as a treat for myself for my birthday. Never saw the tv series, but i saw this inside a shop and thought it was gorgeous, but couldnt afford it at the time. Bought a few months later when the price came down and i wasnt disappointed.The pictures are breathtaking and i bought it primarily for the stunning visualisations. The pages are thick and glossy and the accompanying text is clear and easy to read.The book is an absolute joy to look through, and it being hardback means it will last years.

Well written, explaining highly complex subjects and theories in an accessible manner, accompanied by beautiful, detailed pictures of our universe.

The recipient was so excited to receive this as part of a package of goodies for Christmas

I got this for my son who is a fan of the scientist and he absolutely loves it, he said it is fascinating and a very enjoyable book to read.

Cohen and Cox take us on an amazing journey through the Cosmos, leading us to a deeper understanding and appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the universe we inhabit. Like any good tour guide, they present clear and detailed information in a highly accessible and understandable manner. Through stories they tell us how great astronomers and physicists came to their discoveries. Beautifully illustrated, this is one of the best books I’ve read on astronomy. I read it on Kindle but have also purchased a physical copy to peruse as well. This is a book to which I shall often return. Ad astra et ultra!
