Excellent small vacuum - powerful
We had one of these for many years and it finally needed to be replaced. Very reasonable price for such a good product.

Easy to use, light weight and the right size.
I have three of these. They are so handy for vacuuming out the cars or in the house for getting doggy furballs up or little bits of debris in any room of the house. This machine merits the accolade "it really sucks" in the best sense of the phrase.

Works great but the strap clips broke 2nd use :-/
This little machine is powerful and I like how compact it is for our RV. The hose is flexible but it does take some juggling to keep it extended (the springiness is pretty tight) as one hand needs to hold the unit and the other is on the wand… if you need to lift a cushion it can get interesting. Also one of the clasps on the strap broke the 2nd time I used it… I’m not sure how to request a replacement but in the meantime will be getting creative.

Most used tool of just about any home or office....
This vacuum from Oreck has amazing lift power! Use it to clean your keyboards, dark corners, dust bunnies, sawdust, whatever after a party - as long as it isn't liquid or wet, you're good! If your kids like to stash their crap under their beds, maybe only 2 legs are actually holding the bed up, the rest by the underside mountain, stick the hose under there to see what you find...It's a good buy and this one is our 2nd Oreck of this type. The first one is quite similar, and after 10 years, it is still going strong.DO IT!

Great vacuum, lightweight with lots of power and suction
Bought this to replace a 15 year old Oreck handheld that finally died. This newer unit is great. The best thing is the power and suction. It cleans very well and doesn't clog. It is light and easy to carry. The drawbacks are that it tips over easily so you have to hold it while using it, which is made easier with the strap. The only thing I don't like about it is the cord storage. The long cord is great for being able to clean large areas without having to change plugs frequently however the wrap around the bottom cord storage is kind of annoying. A retractable cord would be great!

A lemon, with fatally flawed design
I bought about 18 years ago a small, lightweight Oreck vacuum cleaner that was an early model of this one. It worked perfectly then; it works perfectly now. I decided to buy another one so that I would have one on each of the house levels. The earlier model is an elongated rectangular canister with three wheels, a long hose, a carrying handle plus shoulder strap, and convenient "arms" around which the cord is wrapped when not in use. A similar model is still available - minus wheels and arms for the cord, and with a much shorter hose - but its listing comes with notice that an updated model is sold directly by Amazon. After much deliberation, I decided to order this current model. It was a decision that I bitterly regret. I spent considerable time trying to install the tool caddy and gave up. I discovered this cleaner's fatal flaw when I used it - a flaw that is very visible but that did not register when I saw the photo. Anyone who takes a basic science class knows that a broad base on any object is critical for stability. This vacuum cleaner has a tiny base and furthermore is completely top-heavy, so the tool caddy would have added more weight. The cleaner absolutely cannot be set down while using it in one place; it must be held constantly. The model it replaces has a broad base so that it could be set down when both hands are needed for a job, unless the exhaust is through the base. The hose is very short, less than half the length of my older model's hose. I strongly recommend that anyone considering a small Oreck cleaner order the older canister model with an elongated shoebox shape, listed as Oreck Super-Deluxe Compact Canister Vacuum Cleaner. Although it no longer has wheels or arms for the cord, I assume that it shares the more positive aspects of the new lemon that I ordered: strong suction and a relatively quiet motor. I hunted for but could not find a vacuum cleaner similar to the Oreck I have had for many years. It is my often-used auxiliary cleaner, used for quick clean-ups of hard surface flooring and dusting when I don't need the "big" cleaner, and wonderful for vacuuming my car. If repackaging this cleaner and getting it to a UPS office were not a formidable task, I would return it. With all of its flaws, it does work as a vacuum cleaner, and I feel stuck with it.

Dust fighter!!
Loving this lightweight little handheld. I've only ever had uprights with attached hoses. This little handheld canister has allowed me to dust up high and low with ease. The nice bristles on the dusting and floor attachment allow for more fine dust pick up. Allowing me to dust things I typically use a rag for, such as electronics. Which is wonderful when you suffer from dust allergies. The bristles on the upholstery tool also seem to get more fine dust and debris out of my fabric furniture. My only complaint so far is that you do need to frequently vacuum the debris from the attachment and you also have to make sure the attachments are firmly placed on the hose.

Very awkward design Good suction
As a fan of all things Oreck I can’t really give a negative review and not that this small vac deserves one but it is frustrating - the design of this product does not make sense to me it’s an awkward shape hard to hold and vacuum at the same time but if you use the shoulder strap it’s constantly banging against your body or sliding off your shoulder the cord storage is basically a wraparound on the bottom of the unit but is soon as you pick up the vacuum cleaner the cord falls off the bottom of the notches on either side. The suction is good, it’s a little loud as Orecks typically are but it works well. I just don’t know what they were thinking on the design of this particular model
