For the real installation instructions read on...
The installation instructions included are both vague and unhelpful. Before I forget to put it together I'll share here the instructions that should have been included. Note the parts don't have real names or designations so I used the best descriptions I could think of.Your kit will include: (1) back section, (2) 4 inch pieces with R and L respectively on them, (2) 2 inch pieces with R and L respectively on them.Step 1: take the back piece and unscrew the tightening knob until the end (the one with the hole in the end) extends approximately 2.5 inches from the point where it enters inside the main back piece.Step 2: Look on the end of the extended tab with the hole for the R or L designation. Find the matching R or L piece in the kit that is approx. 4 inches long. Place this piece on the inside (side your head will be on) of the extended piece. Hold it there.Step 3: matching R or L piece in the kit that is approx. 2 inches long. Place this piece on the outside (side your head will NOT be on) of the extended piece. now press the three pieces together until it snaps together add as much cursing as you need to to accomplish this task - for me one side snapped easy and the other required a great deal of verbal abuse).Step 4: NOW get your actual Oculus Quest unit. remove the straps and any face foam insert you've added for comfort reasons. These pieces should easily remove. No cursing required.Step 5: Take your newly assembled back kit and attach it to the Oculus Quest putting the R on the wear's right and the L on the wear's left. Press and snap in place.Step 6: feed the top strap through the strap loop on top of the Quest.Step 7: reinstall any face foam that you removed in step 4.Step 8: put it on - remember to unscrew/screw the knob to increase/decrease the strap lengths to fit you. This may take a bit of time as the combination of knob and top strap as will as the actual angle you pivot the Quest at on the pivot points will determine the fit overall. Just keep adjusting and cursing at it until you get it comfy on the pack of your head.Step 9: Finally hand the accursed unit to your kid and go have a drink. You earned it and that baby isn't falling off that kid's head anytime soon.

Disappointing headset. The connectors are cheap and one won’t snap in place. Do not buy.
The connectors from the head strap to the unit are cheap and the left one won’t snap in place regardless of the effort to do so. It has caused the headset to disconnect while playing and has almost hit the floor several times. What a piece of junk.

Very comfortable light weight but the connected plastic acts like a knife injuring your both ears

Side straps won’t go on.
Not a good head strap at all. I can’t tell about comfort or durability because side straps won’t click on. I’ve tried to the point my fingers hurt from pressing them together. If you look at reviews before purchasing read this because I’ll definitely be returning it.

If you have an oculus, you need one of these!
My son and I both have an oculus quest 2. I was not planning on getting one of these headsets for myself because I can tuck my ponytail up underneath the straps on the headset and it fits tightly without moving around too much. I ordered this for my son because he doesn’t have a ponytail and his headset was falling all over the place. We got it put together and I tested it out and immediately came back to Amazon and ordered one for myself. It fits beautifully on your head and holds the VR headset right to your face without flopping around or moving at all.

This is a MUST HAVE accessory!
I am so glad I purchased this strap replacement! My son got an Occulus 2 for Christmas. He complained about the headstrap immediately. Not being a gamer, I really didn't understand the significance of the poorly fitting strap.I recently became interested in trying out the VR for myself. Well it was a disaster! I couldn't get the headset to settle onto my head well enough to play with it. I looked for a better solution, and this was the right choice. It fits the headset perfectly and I can now play without fear of dropping the VR. We are very pleased with this product!

Nearly perfect
Great head set! Way better than the oculus original head strap. I use it and my kids use it too. It fits my 8 year old just fine. Fits me perfect! Very comfortable.. The only downside is that it doesn't fit in most of the oculus carry cases on the market. As far as I can tell there is currently only one carry case on the market that is designed to fit your oculus with this head strap on it. Other than that its great.

Don't buy this product.
It was pretty easy to put together but it's not exactly the same one in the video or in the video it's not the same Oculus quest 2. The device is supposed to click into place. Mines kept sliding out and it doesn't have the ridges like in the video. I don't recommend iy. If you have an Oculus quest2 look on the sides of it to make sure the ridges are there, my Oculus doesn't have that like on this video so the strap on just slides right out... I immediately returned it. Really disappointed ☹️☹️☹️
