Let There Be Rock

ACDC Underrated Masterpiece
LTBR was always my favorite album cover, so cool. My brother had the album but I didn't until now. Everyone knows and loves the big hits, but the unsung slow burner masterpieces are what really makes the album: Go Down, Bad Boy Boogie, Overdose, Hell ain't a bad place to be. Wow, these songs rock, and really grow on you. After repeated listens in my car the last week, all I want to do is keep listening to this over and over again. Angus's guitar solo's are killer, Malcolm keeps the riffs going which are at first interesting and later mesmerizing. I forgot how much I loved this band, and especially the Bon Scott era. Bon's a bit of a lovable rouge, great singer and lyricist. RIP. If you love the Bon Scott era, don't hesitate, this album is fantastic.

A must have for any hard core AC/DC fan !! Exspecialy the Bon Scott years!!!!
I can remember when I was a teenager & me and my friends discovered these outrageous rockers from Australia !! My friends older brother turned us on to the import album "T.N.T." & "74 Jailbreak" and needless to say we were hooked anxiously awaiting the next album. To our delight they just kept getting better!! Instead of T.N.T. we got the American version titled " High Voltage" & then came "Dirty Deeds done dirt cheap" "Let there be Rock" just blew us away every song Rocked & " Let there be Rock" was the sound track to every house party, field party & resonated from every muscle car cruising the strip in 1977!!! The next two album's continued to knock our socks off & then we heard the news Bon Scott had died !!! We were crushed seemingly out of nowhere came this steamroller of a hard rock band that just kept getting better & better & just as suddenly as they appeared the lead singer passed away leaving us with "Highway to Hell" in 1979. Then in 1980 the impossible happened AC/DC released "Back in Black" & continued to blow our socks off again!!! "Let There be Rock" was the mid way point for the Bon Scott era of AC/DC & a great rock & roll anthem. This album is also the most personal "Bon Scott" AC/DC album containing to song penned about Bon's sexcapades with "Go Down" & " Whole lotta Rosie". In all of AC/DC's work over the years you would be hard pressed to find a bad album or weak album but you will not find it in the Bon Scott era of AC/DC if you can find it at all!!!

Blistering and Raw Riffin': AC/DC at it's finest
I'm not going to break this down song by song, but suffice it to say I have listened to a lot of rock & roll records in my day, and Let There Be Rock is an absolute gem. The echelon this record reaches is very scarcely populated indeed. The raw power and crunching riffs on this album are downright addicting and if they can't get your blood pumping, I'd suggest therapy!Bon Scott was the heart and soul of AC/DC; my God, when they drew up the prototype rock & roll singer, Bon was it. Witty, charming, lyrically funny and clever, and with a voice that could strip paint off the walls, Bon and his mates are awesome on every song here. Ladies loved him and blokes wanted to be like him; I don't recall anyone ever saying anything bad about Bon. I love every single song on here, including the usual suspects Let There be Rock and Whole Lotta Rosie, but do not overlook a hidden gem in Overdose. Again, the riffs will sweep you up and blow you completely away.I'm not going to knock the Brian Johnson version of AC/DC. Brian seems like a great guy and was a very good choice to replace Bon (if such can indeed ever be done). However, for my money the AC/DC between 1975 and 1979 is absolutely off the charts and all of their CD's should be in your collection if you like good old fashioned a**-kickin' rock and roll. Few, if any, have ever done it any better.

Good record, but…
…if your getting this because your heard Whole Lotta Rosie somewhere, you likely heard the live version, on If You Want Blood…

New CD as promised
Cd sounds great. Not much else to say. If you are an early AC/DC fan , you’ll love it. Very heavy guitar driven by Angus, who else?
