Great lesson book
This is what is recommended by our son’s piano teacher. He enjoys the lessons and they use it every week in class. Great for a beginner after going through the first set!

Even A Child Can Do It
I've always wanted to play piano, but have never really made it beyond a series of self-help books that did nothing except frustrate me. This series is different. It's aimed at children and starts with very basic concepts and drills and activities. They're fun and very clear. I'm now most of the way through the second book(s) in the series and will order the next set soon. I'm more comfortable with reading notes, especially on the bass clef, and I'm learning theory in small doses. Most of the way through volume 2, we've worked in the keys of C, G, D, and A, but without calling attention to that. We have not yet studied particular key signatures, although sharps and flats and most notation is now familar. My only complaint, which is minor, is that there are four books: lessons, theory, technique, and performance. While the four books refer to each other, it might be better if they were integrated into one larger book. I understand possible reasons for not doing this, but it would be a little easier to keep track of where the student is in each separate volume.

THIS is the piano book series you've been looking for.
These books are fantastic. The music is fresh, interesting, and well considered. The books work very well to support each other. I absolutely love all of the additional tips, challenges, and musical ideas presented beyond the songs themselves. As a piano teacher, this is my favorite series to teach from!Just a note: if you're transitioning from other series, there may be a few advanced concepts not introduced in other series at the same level. I love how they incorporate great musical concepts at an early stage though!

We are all happy with his new books
My son used Bastien piano basic in the beginning when he was 3. A few months later after he finished level 1B, he transferred to Piano adventure (Lesson, Theory, Performance, Technic & Sight-reading), because his piano teach was using it. It's well organized. Also, my son is learning fast using this book. I think he finished all 2A books in 2 or 3 months. We are all happy with his new books.

I love these books and I drive 25 minutes one way ...
I love these books and I drive 25 minutes one way to my kids' piano teacher that uses these because they help my kids and children in general advance quicker so that they will want to play piano (instead of having to be bribed, haha).
