Great axe for the price, nice and balance, nice head, and the handle is very good quality wood, now like all axes it comes dull, which is not a problem if you know thats how they come, you have to sharpen it yourself, take a number 0 flat basterfile and file a nice edge on the axe head, then take a fine file and work on the sharpness and for a really razor sharp edge you will have to either sharpen it on a fine stone or use fine emery cloth sand paper, start with a 220 grit and go up to 1200 grit with water for a nice sharp edge, now the case is ill fitted and poorly made, but will cover you axe, but I would suggest get one made from veg tanned leather or kidex for a safer transporting of the axe.

The best carving hatchet ever made I take into the woods find a piece of wood and rough out a spoon and can almost finish it.

This was actually a really funny purchase. My teenage godson had requested "Hatchet" for his birthday. I did not realize he was talking about a book not an actual hatchet. Although the misunderstanding happened he is able to use it when he goes camping, has gotten a lot of good use out of it and really likes it.

The handle was fine but the grind/shape of the head was definitely not what I was hoping for, it’s definitely a cheap hatchet! I paid 5$ more for a collins hatchet an the quality was Much Better, I plan to take a grinder to it to clean it up then I’ll give it to my son if I don’t spend to much time on it then decide to keep it!!! LoL

Not a huge fan of the painted head, but it’s solid, durable, and holds an edge. Does everything it’s supposed to do. It’s a hatchet ffs.
