TOTOSS154#01 Traditional SoftClose Elongated Toilet Seat, Cotton White

I bought three of these in September 2006, shortly after buying our home. One for the master bathroom, one for the kids bathroom, & one for the guest bathroom. About 6 months ago I noticed that the one in the master bathroom was not slow closing but banging shut. I hate working on toilets, so I let it slide until the irritation got to me. I checked the other two & the one in the kids bathroom was also into fast closing. The guest bathroom gets little use & it was still working like it did 7 years ago. So I ordered two replacements & installed them.The plastic moldings were slightly different and the diameter of the metal shaft on the old ones was much smaller, so perhaps the nice people at TOTO made a few running changes to extend their life. One can only hope...5/22/2013 addition: I originally wrote this because my families life experience was far longer than other reviewers. A nice lady couldn't understand why I gave them 5 stars when they only lasted 6 years, so I'll write some more.I'm an old clumsy foggy & with conventional toilet seats, I occasionally slip & they come crashing noisily down vs gentle quiet closing. I haven't broken a toilet yet, but without soft-close seats, I suspect that day would come. As a bonus, they are very comfortable, the plastic is of high quality & was immaculate at the 7 year point & would probably last forever. On the other hand, the slow close mechanism appears to have a shorter life. 6 years is acceptable.The fact that I replaced them vs looking for something else shows I'm a 5 star satisfied user.

Well made, and good color match for my Toto toilet. Easy to install. The soft closing mechanism works very well - quite stiff at first but loosens after using a couple of times. We have this seat elsewhere and the soft closing mechanism is still working perfectly after 9 years. Solid construction with four locations of support under the seat - makes the seat very secure for the larger person.

Ok this seat, works well with the toto toilet, I have had it in place for a few weeks now. When I look at it, I don't think traditional, I think it's pretty modern since the toilet has clean lines and an elegant design. I liked it because most toilet seats were a bit too low, since the toilet is already really low for ADA reasons, i liked having a toilet seat that had some contour to it. This one has just enough but not enough to notice that it is giving you an extra .5" of height or whatever. I love the slow close, it was the one thing keeping me from putting the toilet seat down, however, it would be nice if the slow close was not ridiculously slow, my poor wife, if i forget to put the toilet seat down she has to stand there and wait for this thing to come down for like 15 seconds, that feels like an eternity when you have to go. Well toto, hope you take this feedback and to your top toilet seat scientist and get it fixed so people don't have to suffer while waiting for the dame seat to genlty come down. The best solution would be fore the slow close to kick in right before the seat hits the lid, so it dose not make a crashing sound but you dont waste time waiting for it to come down.

I never in my life saw myself writing a review about a toilet seat, but after sitting on this one, I just have to. This seat literally HUGS your bum! No joke- when I sit, it feels like one continuous strong arm wrapped around my bum. I’m petite-ish, yet my 200+ husband said the same. We both also noted that there is ZERO uncomfortable pressure on our thighs or on any of our ‘parts’; it’s as if you’re floating, which is especially important to me as I am prone to fissures from landscaping- TMI?..don’t care.. at 47, I’m all about comfort and if you’ve ever had one, you’ll know exACTly what I’m talking about. The lid is solid and strong. I’ve even stood on it to reach the tall shelves in the cabinet above the toilet- not a hint of bowing like the thin cheap plastic lids. Bonus: although you can’t tell just from looking, the perfectly contoured seat adds a solid 1.75” to our 15” TOTO Drake toilets! My tall husband is very pleased with that aspect!

The original seat sent by Amazon was not wrapped in plastic but did have the bolts, nuts, and the Rubber Seat stoppers. The seat stoppers were already fitted into the seat and the seat top was sratched in quite a few places so obviously someone sent it back.The replacement seat came in a week later and I was very impressed how slick the return procedure was. No charge shipping return. However package of part A,B,and C (above) was missing. The seat itself was in perfect condition and wrapped in plastic. Since I had the original part A, B & C, I simply changed from our existing ToTo seat to the new one. They worked fined and installation was very fast. and easy. Fit was good and seat lowered properly. Happy with purchase.

Arrived per schedule and is an excellent product. Easy to install and very comfortable. I installed this seat on an American Standard toilet without difficulty.

The only thing different from the original is the extra ridge on top of the lid. Aside from that, it's perfect.

This product was used to replace the original Toto toilet seat from which the plastic covering was peeling off. This seat is far superior to the original as it does not have a plastic covering. Very easy to install
