New soap maker.
I recently started making hot-process soap. Before I attempted it, I read hints and tips on how to do it. I saw a video of a woman doing her soap and she was using Phenolphthalein. I looked on Amazon, and there it was! Works great and a little goes a long way.

Makes Soapmaking Much Easier
I just made my first batch of soap yesterday. I was not familiar enough with the hot process soap-making method to be able to recognize when the soap was done. Using this pH testing liquid I was able to keep checking and know when there was no more unsaponified lye. I am so glad I bought this.

This product is a must have for the home soap ...
This product is a must have for the home soap maker, particularly if using the "hot process" method. By using phenolphthalein there's no second guessing when your soap is done. No more "zap" test! Who wants to lick soap, anyway?

It works for a while (4 months only)
I bought it in sep 2018 to test my hot process soap. It worked for a few months. Stored it in a cool, dry place. On Feb 2019, it always gave me pink/fuchsia color. I thought my soap has excess alkali. Very frustrating. Then, I started to test previously-made-successful CP soaps..also came out fuchsia. Even when I tested just baking soda with a bit of distilled water..still pink. Baking soda ph is between 8.3-9 ..should be impossible to be pink. Does it have expiration date? Do I need to store it in a dark dark place? I stored it on my kitchen counter corner.

Exactly as expected
I use this to test the neutrality of my cream soap concoctions. It works as advertised. A little bottle should last a long time since you only use a drop per test.
