Lots of generated heat
Car: 2019 Honda OdysseyPhone: IPhone XR running IOS 15Set up: Set up was easy! Initial pairing was incredibly self-explanatory! iPhone interface well with software during set up.Post Set up use: phone connected quickly, and no additional intervention was necessary beyond the initial pairing process.Daily use and operation: phones battery was drastically shortened by the use of wireless airplay with this product. Phone generated significant amounts of heat. Phone surface temperature ran to 108°F. Dongle surface temperature was approximately 110°F most applications worked well, Google maps, Apple Maps, and Waze experienced significant lag. Phone calls were not clear. use of Siri was unaffected. Music streaming worked without issueOverall impression: due to the lack of stability with navigation, and the issues related to phone calls, this product is not going to work for me. The amount of heat generated within the phone, and the dongle itself present mild concern.

Like magic
Just bought a new car with wired CarPlay but quickly learned how annoying it was to always have to plug my phone in every time. Saw several devices like this but choose this one after whatching some online reviews. It works really well. I figured it would be a clunky experience but nope, it’s more like a magical experience. The first time I used it there was a title audio stuttering but since then it has worked like a champ. The one remaining quirk is that the startup time varies quite a bit. Sometimes it’s ready in under 10 seconds, other times it takes more than 30 seconds but it’s always better than dealing with pulling my phone out of my pocket and plugging it in

Works on 2019 Golf GTI & 2018 Toyota Tacoma
The most important part of this review is that it works for my car and my associate's car. Each of us has a different make and model (See title). I ordered a total of three units. The first one was shipped DOA (no activity/light/power). Thanks to Amazon cross shipping policy, I got a replacement within a week and return the defective unit on the same week. The last unit that I ordered appears to be used, the unit was sold by Ottocast and shipped by Amazon. Anything sold by a third party is sketchy at best, even if it was sold by the mfg. However, it works, so a return was not required. C'mon guys, don't sell a used one as new. It even has a masking tape, taped at the ripped boxed, quite obvious. The other shipped has shrink wrapped. For setup, quite easy, as the instruction said, plug it into the car, go to your phone Bluetooth setup and connect to Ottocast unit. Once paired, it will ask on the phone screen if you want to use Carplay (iPhone), select "Yes" and it will disconnected from Bluetooth and use WiFi to connect.People complains about a slight delay, and yes it is there (about 1.5sec), even if they advertised as using 5Ghz. WiFi connect instead of 2.4Ghz like other brand, but I only noticed when changing music track. It didn't appear to affect changing volume much if at all. Different car may behave differently.Lastly, anytime I get in the car, it will auto connect without having to touch anything. It's great. Using this will also save your Lightning/USB-C port on the phone. Just bring the cable with you, in case you need to charge.

Finally... No wires!!!
Package just arrived and in minutes of using it, I am extremely impressed. Only time will tell how long these last on constant use. Hopefully for years to come, but I will keep you updated! Definitely worth the try if you are needing wireless carplay. Does exactly as it’s described and lets me go in my car with my phone in my pocket! Sound quality is the same as if you were using a wired cable, and the latency is little to none. See for yourself and GET ONE!!

Works on aftermarket Radios
Works flawlessly on a Dual after market deck which works great as well. I took a risk in ordering it as my port on my phone is bad, but works great! Will update as I played with it for thirty mins after installing it.Update: After a week of use not a single issue. Still working just fine with the Dual deck,. Voice commands work flawlessly... So Far GREAT PRODUCTUpdate: still working great
