I’m not sure what all the bad rep is about.
I was expecting to be in for a trainwreck when I ordered this based off reviews of it disconnecting. The perk of not having a ELD screen on your dash while driving was a major selling point for me. My only issue with it is when my phone syncs to it, that it can take a while “debuffering”. If you drive for a couple hours with your phone disconnected from the device, you can expect it to take upwards of 20 minutes before it finishes downloading the data stored on the eld.This isn’t a big deal, but if you are driving in personal conveyance, it will automatically log your movements as on duty driving while it is debuffering so you either have to wait for it to finish or unplug it and sync later. I try to keep it connected as much as I can for easier mileage tracking so it can be frustrating when I run errands for the weekend on it and have a movement default to on duty driving all because I didn’t sync my phone.
