These are awesome clippers. Strong, firm, and very sharp. They open very wide if for some reason you want to clip something much wider than my nails are. Unlike most clippers I've used, the handle doesn't bend at all when you're pressing down. They're as sharp as I've ever seen nail clippers get.The design is a little innovative, and isn't hard to understand if you take a second to look at it. They have an open mode and a closed mode, and there's a small piece of springy metal on a hinge that switches position for each mode. When you're using them, the spring should be swung to the front, and it acts as you would expect it to opening the clippers back up after you clip. When you're done, the spring should be swung to the back and "attached" to the magnet at the back of the clippers. This gently holds the clippers shut while not in use.Came with two sizes, which were good, and a great glass nail file.

There is just a weak magnet holding this together so there isn't much leverage, making this difficult to use. Very poor design. Buy something else. With the metals being use it looks like it would be great, but if you buy this you will be fooled as I was.

As much as I hate to give a less than stellar customer review, I feel compelled to write a negative review for this particular product. I wanted to explain why the two stars. As much as I found the product to be substandard in practice, the packaging and storage bag were really nice. I also loved the idea of a wider opening clipper especially for trimming toenails, which this one definitely has. Simply put, when I clipped a nail, it left a pretty ragged edge so I clipped more and then more hoping that it would even out, but it got worse. I thought I must have been doing it wrong. But I seriously doubt that. After all, what sort of adult hasn’t clipped their own nails a few thousand times? Sorry…

The nail clipper is fine, does the job. It has a unique design which I find a bit quirky (the magnet that's supposed to keep it shut doesn't keep it fully shut) but doesn't get in the way of using it. The wide mouth is a plus and comes super sharp. We'll see if it stays sharp in the long run -- in my experience nail clippers dull quite substantially after some use.Now the nail file, it's exceptional! Maybe that's because I never used a good nail file before, but, this thing is (1) super easy to use, (2) makes my nail edges super smooth (smoother than it's ever been), and (3) is super easy to clean (just rinse it with some water). The design is amazing, many sharp-edged small dots raised from the surface of the glass. It won't cause injury to your flesh but will file down and polish (the edges of my nails literally reflect light) your nails in no time. I'd probably buy this product just for the nail file.

I ordered these clippers because arthritis has crippled my hands and I can't hold on to regular clippers. These have a handle design that makes holding on to them relatively easy. To my surprise, I also found that they make a clean sharp cut with very little pressure and the jaws open wide enough to cut thick toenails. I'm very happy with them and recommend them highly.
