Is the paper quality of this official BuJo any different than the regular Leuchtturm1917 notebooks?

The regular journal paper is100GSM. This bullet journal paper is 120GSM So the paper is 20% thicker but the regular never ghosted with ink for me

Does it lay flat when opened?

Yes. Just give it a little bend like you are cracking the spine a bit and it will lay flat. That little bend does not affect the outward appearance of the journal. I don't think you will regret buying it. It's so nice and has a nice, quality feel to it.

Is there a pocket in the back?

Yes, there is a guide pack with a sticker set in the pocket that can be taken out!

Do you have to start in January?
